‘The Inspired table’ is a décor focus we did earlier this month with the hugely talented Katie Mayhew as our photographer and showcasing Downing’s summer range of all things bespoke and beautiful for your wedding day and special event. To-netts personalized it all with three incredible and on-trend flower looks and Secret Diary created individual stationary designs to match the magic.
Shooting in the beautiful winelands meant we were spoiled for choice but the looks showcased here are appealing to three, very different brides. The first a rustic, bohemian outdoor look, with an al-fresco set-up right under the vines, complete with toned down hues, rosemary flourishes and pops of colour, brought in with the ever-trendy wonky plates.
Second up is the complete opposite - a sophisticated affair, using the classic combination of black and white. This indoor look was all about structure and opulence, tightly bunched white roses and hydrangeas, perfectly balancing out the stark black-gloss candalabras as the show-stopper centerpieces. Secret Diary completed this look with elegant name cards that add a little extra glamour.
The perfect ‘pop of colour’ is showcased in the last look. Gold cutlery is everywhere at the moment and we love how it’s offset here with wild, cascading centerpieces bursting colour and unique additions of fruit as part the floral look. Lavish and wild, we love the touches of hanging greenery in geometric gold cages. This look is followed through to the table setting with hints of metallic everywhere, making the colour ‘pop’ even more.
“We all know that the right mix of style and simplicity is the cornerstone of fabulous wedding florals. Fresh flowers, that feature the seasons best finds and are locally sourced, always come out tops. Gone are the days of all white décor, replaced by a season of colour, everything bright and bold. Singular striking floral pieces can be used as exclamation points strewn across tables, which do not need to all look the same. You can opt to mix up your floral décor and table sequencing, which promises a stunning effect for your photography.
