We met through a mutual friend, and hit it off immediately.
Nick planned a trip to Cape Town, had a romantic early evening private dinner setup in the middle of the rose garden at Kleine Zalze wine farm in Stellenbosch, arranged a sneaky photographer to be in the bushes to capture the exact real moment & proposed, surprising me completely.
The planning process was very work intensive, but Nick was the most amazing support and helped throughout the planning process. We also chose the greatest suppliers who made the process that much easier.
As many magazines as possible, spending a lot of time on the internet, including SAweddings.co.za & pinterest, the help of our amazing décor supplier Dream Canvas who gave us so many great ideas, and I also had quite a few of my own ideas.
The intense feeling of gratitude for the amount of love we received from everyone around us that celebrated our most magical day with us.
We didn’t have any specific theme. We wanted our wedding to represent us and not be a copy paste wedding. For this reason, we decided against some of the normal wedding traditions, such as cutting the cake, and the bouquet and garter toss. We wanted the day to feel relaxed, and for all attending to have a really memorable day. As much as this was our day, we wanted it to be about us & the special relationships we have with all our wonderful family and friends.
Being a laid back individual with an open mind I let the professionals help me choose the dress that would suit me best. The ladies at De La Vida were amazing throughout the process and helped me find my dream dress. Although I never would’ve imagined wearing a ball gown, the moment I put on the dress I knew it was the one. Without any hesitation I bought my dress a whole year before my wedding.
For my bridesmaids dresses I wanted something different, and chose dresses that I knew my bridesmaids could wear again. The full lace coral dresses that we chose were perfect.
I wanted lots of candles and lights. I didn’t have a specific flower in mind, but new exactly what colour I wanted the flowers in. The feel of the venue, the help of Dream Canvas, and a lot of my own ideas, all resulted in my décor being exactly what I dreamed of.
Yes we made some signage, collected jars & dressed them with lace & string, built a table plan structure, and decorated our favours.
Bryan Adams - Everything I Do.
One of my first memories of dating Nick is watching a live Bryan Adams DVD together. The song and its words remind me of the special bond we share, the way we respect each other and would do anything for each other, and our love for each other that I know will last forever.
Loren: Listening to my favourite band, playing one of my favourite songs live at our wedding, dancing next to my amazing husband as a new Mrs. Sarnadas, surrounded by my favourite people in the world.
Nick: The moment I saw Loren come down the aisle. I couldn’t hold back the tears. I will never forget that moment!
Try to remain calm, call on your family and husband for help & support, and try not to sweat the small stuff.
We went on a mini moon for 4 very relaxing days to Salt Rock on the KZN North case after a very busy planning process. We will be doing our proper honeymoon to Thailand later in the year.
