We met through a mutual friend and became friends. We enjoyed taking hikes together going to the movies and taking sight seeing day trips. We became best friends and over time we realized we were falling for each
other. We decided to start dating and after 6 months we were engaged :)
He proposed while we were on our first holiday together in Fiji. We were taking a walk along the beach and watching the sunset when he dropped down on one knee. I was totally surprised and extremely excited, definitely the best holiday ever.
Being in New Zealand and planning the wedding from a distance was stressful at points. Our wedding Co-ordinator Chelsea at Warrens-Stone Weddings was amazing she really helped to bring our dreams to reality.
A blend of Instagram and Pinterest. We both wanted a modern wedding with a boho minimalist feel. I love
pastel colours and Andrew wanted to incorporate some greenery. Between the two and the fairy lights we ended up with the most dreamy decor thanks to Chelsea and Denise of N Concepts and Designs.
The whole day was just beautiful. Celebrating the day with all our friends and family from around
the world was the best part of it all.
Not really a theme so much as an inspiration. It was Modern Boho Minimalist and shades of pastels.
The dress I picked is a dress I fell in love with when went dress shopping. I loved the mermaid fit and the train. The bridesmaids dresses were a variation of a mermaid fit as well. Each bridesmaid picked the top variant for their dress. My maid of honour picked her own design in the same shade of the other girls dresses. I wanted them to glow, they all looked gorgeous.
I just love pastel colours. I find they create such a fairytale calming ambiance.
Our first dance was to “Make it to me” by Sam Smith. Andrew and I believe that the entire universe conspired to bring us together. We both moved to New Zealand alone from the UK and South Africa respectively around the same time. We had no friends or family in New Zealand but just felt a push to move here. We didn’t quite know why or whether we would stay until we met each other. The song perfectly captures our journey to love. Our first live concert watched together was Sam Smith we love him.
Finally being at the altar hand in hand.
Remember why you started and remember that it’ll all be worth it at the end of the day.
No not as yet. We hoping to go on one in the middle of 2020.
