We have been dating for 7 years and a bit.
Byron is a bit shy and reserved but has a friendly and happy nature, I am more outgoing and a people's person. So like they say, opposites attract.
He proposed in the Eiffel Tower in Paris while we were on a European holiday. After we shared a very quiet and awkward dinner (nerves got to him) in the Eiffel Tower, he took me to a lookout point in one of the corners. He made sure there was no one in sight, took my hand and said "you know how much I love you, and you're my best friend….will you marry me?", and proceeded to get down on his knee...
We had never done a photo shoot together and thought it might be a great idea to get comfortable in front of the camera before our big day. I specifically booked it through my friend and well-known local photographer, Byron du Bois of DB Photography
We shot our engagement shoot in Summerveld in Shongweni. The location was a perfect setting for the shoot, the long grass, open skies and falling leaves created a tranquil ambience.
We opt for a vintage picnic styled shoot.
He chose it - with some hints from me.
We are planning the big day ourselves, I have quite a few ideas in mind and my mom and I own a décor shop down the South Coast called Natural Interiors, so I'm lucky enough to have all the décor I want at my disposal.
We are planning an elegant barn-style wedding in the Midlands, and we are set to wed next year in August.
