We have now been dating for 3 years and we have been engaged for a year.
Three years ago, we would have said that Nerisha was the loud one and Thys the reserved one, but that has changed completely. We balance out each other’s weaknesses and we promote each other’s strengths.
Thys completely caught me off guard. He had the ring but wasn’t sure when to propose. Long story short, we had an amazing evening together a few days after we moved into our own place and he asked me to marry him in our new home. It was just the two of us and it was MAGICAL!
Nerisha always wanted to do an engagement shoot. I believe that it’s a great memory to have and to reflect back on as time can often pass by so quickly. It was definitely not an add-on.
We had our shoot at two locations. First we went to French Toast Cafe. Nerisha loves Europe and wanted to have the shoot there. Thys loves the nature and so our second location was in the middle of nowhere in the veld.
We did not have a theme for our shoot. All we wanted was our love to truly show and be present through the lens of the photographer.
Both of us chose my engagement ring. Thys knew what I liked and I allowed him to choose the final product.
Nerisha’s mom did most of the planning but we were in charge of deciding what we want on our big day. We have also decided to ask Zavion to be our wedding coordinator as he is responsible for our flowers and decor.
We will be having a garden ceremony under a rose arch in a rose garden. It will be a small wedding with only our closest people attending. Our colour scheme ranges from white to a very light pink, with a touch of a very light grey.
We are an utterly passionate husband and wife team, who's had the privilege of working together since 2010, capturing beautiful, natural and real moments as they take place.
