When two adventurous souls collide, you can be sure that a spontaneous destination wedding is in the cards. Maria and Jacques were brought together through their love of creativity: her being a model, and him being a creative director, they were made for each other.
They met at an art gallery opening in Cape Town on a sea-breezy summers evening. Six years and ten countries later, Jacques proposed to Maria under the stars on Signal Hill with the city lights of Cape Town glimmering in the background. It is no surprise that for a couple who are so intertwined in adventure and travel, they decided to pack their bags and elope to celebrate their union of love.
Thailand was on the top of their list for this romantic boho affair. They wanted to get married on one of the most beautiful and picturesque islands of Thailand, and so once they touched down on the breathtaking white shores of Phuket, we helped them make the magic happen. One of the most surreal moments of this intimate wedding was watching the beautiful bride dance barefoot with her new husband under a roof of Orchids. Watching them steal kisses and sneak giggles in their photo shoot, was absolutely beautiful and really showcased how madly in love they really are.
Under the shade of a beautiful floral umbrella and palm trees, with an ocean background of Thai longtail boats, these two lovebirds said “I Do” with the waves crashing on the rocks as their background music. Being such a beautifully minimalistic couple, they wanted to keep it simple; from the elegant and simple wedding dress bought from a local vendor in Phuket, to the no-fuss wedding day schedule. Maria was only specific about one thing – a beautiful Orchid-filled focal point for her wedding ceremony by the ocean. And that is what we gave her.
We worked with the amazing team from Iamflower to design something unique for this exploratory couple. They supplied an array of magnificent Orchids, Roses and foliage set up in a beautiful structure with stunning ocean views at the stunning Palm Seaside on Bang Tao Bay. The bride got ready in the amazing penthouse honeymoon suite at the Twinpalms Phuket with the very talented stylist Kate from Kate’s Hair and Make Up Studio doing her minimalist bridal look.
After this fun-loving couple said their “I Do’s”, they headed off to Surin Beach for their sunset couple’s shoot. When you have a newly wed couple so madly in love, waves crashing on white sand, completed with vibrant pink hues; you have the recipe for an incredible shoot. We only got one beautiful moment after another and it was all captured by the brilliant Roon Photography.
