The SA Weddings team was invited and upon arrival we were greeted with the beautiful sight of hundreds of docked boats and yachts against a rosy orange sunset. The Regatta Centre deck is the perfect spot for enjoying a Lanique welcome cocktail which was offered to every guest arriving at the launch. The interior which was done by Stuff Rentals and Sales which was a white cocktail theme. The O Company who did the center pieces used clean white bases with crystal jars and white roses with hints of green. The incredibly friendly and efficient servers were at your beck and call with a fully stocked bar provided by the RCYC.
As the venue filled up entertainment was provided by local jazz band Pastiche who stole the show with their enthusiasm and all round slick performance. A wonderful ice breaker was seeing the incredible talent of caricaturist and illustrator Martinus van Tee live, he skilfully and quickly animated most of the event’s guests and added to the energy of fun and light heartedness. On the deck throughout the event was the delicious ice cream truck of Gelato on the Go who were offering free tasters of their flavour of the day “Ferroro Rocher”, let’s just say that this delicious sample was enough to have us eagerly awaiting the canapés served just after.
The canapés were done by the Royal Cape Yacht Club and included tomato and basil soup, mini hamburgers, chicken and peanut satay skewers as well as an array of other deliciously flavoured treats. The event formalities were brought in by an enthusiastic MC and singer Bruce T who stole the show with his suave confidence and the moves of his dancers by Fusion Entertainment. As the night crept in and drinks were flowing the fun only continued with the party animal known as Retro Photo Booth, this instant photo booth provides a host of dress up gear and leaves room for a lot of banter to be shared and memories to be made. This is certainly a highlight at our SA Weddings events too!
The entertainment continued into the evening with Fire Tribe dancers being brought in to, literally light up the stage and wow the guests. As if the event needed anything else the absolute highlight was surprising us guests with a possible free trip to Seychelles in exchange for a dance off! Of course the SA Weddings gals know just how to shake it but unfortunately this time we didn’t quite steal the show but big congratulations goes to the winner Michelle Hurst!
Royal Cape Yacht Club put a fabulous and fun filled affair which left none of us wanting to leave. Their newly revamped Regatta Centre is modern and has a great white backdrop perfect for experimentation with your own decor and ideas. The highlight is of course the beautiful view, especially at sunset, of docked yachts which lies just in front of the venues deck. The entire event was documented by Alec from Image Mundi Photography who was absolutely fantastic. SA Weddings would like to thank Natalie de Gois and her team at the Royal Cape Yacht Club for allowing us to “escape the rat race” and share in their successful launch.
