Our wedding was especially meaningful to us because we chose to tie the knot in the same church where my grandparents were married, in Stanford, Western Cape. It’s a place rich with family history, and it also holds personal significance for me, as it’s where I was baptized. Sharing this sacred space with loved ones felt like a beautiful way to honor my family's legacy and celebrate our love.
We chose a wedding venue that felt like home because we wanted our friends and family to be comfortable and to create a warm atmosphere, making it feel more like a joyful family gathering. Our reception was held at Bluegum Country Estate in Stanford.
For our honeymoon we spent 5 wonderful days in Dubai at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel where we spent lazy days by the pool, enjoyed some time riding jet ski's, and of course, a few hours shopping!
My wedding look was an elegant look. I had Hollywood waves and my make-up was striking, yet not over the top. I paired this look with pearls and a very special necklace that I got from my in-laws for Christmas (something old).
I'm still in love with my beautiful wedding dress that I bought from Allora Bridal in Stellenbosch. It is a minimalistic dress with unexpected details at the back. It has sequined lace appliqués that add a subtle sparkle and extend to create a stunning cut out cathedral length train. Covered buttons cascading down the back complete the look.
Our ceremony was at NG Kerk Stanford, Western Cape and our Reception was held at Bluegum Country Estate. We spent the Sunday before the wedding, as well as the night of the wedding at the Estate with 40 of our guests.
I tried to go to the gym at least 4 times a week to get toned. I also went for a few tan can sessions, as well as 4 micro-needling appointments.
My bridesmaids wore beautiful burgundy dresses from Pretpakkie (Durbanvile, Western Cape), paired with a nude heel and gold flower earrings.
I decided on a sleek high ponytail for them with a daring plum lip.
Our photographer is extremely special to us. Lindi (Lèèf fotografie) was our photographer for our couple shoot and engagement shoot and it was great working with her again on our special day.
We also have a highlights video captured by All About Photography.
The catering was done in-house.
We had a harvest table and canapes for starters. The main course was one of the highlights of the day - beef fillet, baby potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and of course, pumpkin fritters.
For desert we had mini wedding cakes on each table.
I designed all the wedding stationery myself, with the help of Canva.
