Going to sleep the night before, just to be woking by my soon to be husband phoning, because I had his room key in my handbag, I won't admit it out loud, but I thought it was rather cute, like fate just had to tease us one last time. Waking up in the morning to my sister and bride's maids at the ready with coffee and Mimosas, then seeing my Dad a little later when he came to pick me up, we cried special tears... walking down the isle and seeing Schalk start wiping away tears as he saw me approach, the "I do's" and our special wedding dance. Honestly, if we could, we would relive the day every week at least once a week!
We both envision some time in Italy for our actual honeymoon, but we've got a bit of saving to do before we can make that happen. We were still fortunate enough to get to spend a 4 magical days in Franschhoek at Le Mitage Estate, before heading to Knysna to join a portion of our family for Christmas.
AN ABSOLUTE DREAM COME TRUE! As a fashion designer myself, I had planned and designed everything from scratch. I knew exactly what I wanted from my dresses, hair, make up to my shoes. I only did one trial for my hair (French roll) and make up (warm and shimmery) and was exceptionally happy with the outcome. My girls (from work) and I made my second party dress and thought that this was incredibly special. I wore my great grans clip on pearl earrings she wore to her wedding day, as did my mom too . This was my something old. My something new was my block heels from Aldo and my something blue was my baby blue lace g-string I wore on the day. I wore my gold cuff bangle I inherited from my late Oupa that styled beautifully with my wedding dress designed by me, made by Jason Kieck. I loved my elegant, classy vogue look. I think what made everything so spectacular was the fact that all my service providers understood exactly what I wanted and worked together to make it happen!

We got married at Laborie Wine Estate, in Paarl. Most of our guests stayed at Picardie Gust Farm and Oak Hill Lodge for the weekend.

Although I had many things planned, it was all thrown a little when I had to go for surgery to remove a melonoma on my leg, after which a cluster of cells were also found under my skin, which turned into three surgeries before the doctors could confidently say that they believe they caught it all. My friend Elandi, from Elandi Hair and Beauty in Welgemoed prepared my hair for the day, while Easi-pro provided the hair extensions. Biosculpture by Sanmari took care of my nails. Body Scrubs, Moisturising and Facial Masks were also added into my daily routine.
Colourful, Classy and Happy was the theme of the day!
Flowers were immaculately provided by Drosberg Flowers, AVZ and Happinest provided towards the decor, but the star of the show apart from the flowers can only be Tammi-Ann of Laborie Wine Estate, who went above and beyond to ensure that everything was just perfect for us!
The men wore black tuxedo suits from Mr Suit, N1 City.
My bridesmaids wore orange steak and elegant dresses from Forever new.

We spent the weekend of the weekend on Laborie Wine Estate and the Friday night before next to it at Picardi Guest Lodge, where we had a 100 of our guests join us in a pre-celebration evening of mingling, catching up and just good clean braai fun, so transport was not something that was required.
The most incredible wedding cake was made by Cake Town, a three layered piece of Heaven on the tastebuds! The rest of the catering which included an impressive harvest table and even a soft serve machine was provided by Laborie Wine Estate.
I designed everything myself. I also illustrated a black and white print for our day that I used for our table cloth, napkins, my pugs scarf (ring bearer) and stationery. My husband and I printed all our napkins, our special story and our table cloth onto fabric.
We only had just shy of a week to prepare our wedding dance due to complications with my health that sprung up, but yes, I do believe we pulled it off wonderfully! The sound was provided by Top Sound in Paarl, although many of our selected songs on our wedding playlist were skipped, Dave still made sure that ALL of our guests were occupying the dance floor right until midnight!
