We had so many memorable moments, but two stand out. Firstly we were so surprised that we remembered our first dance and that we didn't make any mistakes. After only having 2 dance lessons. But we nailed it, ps. we can't dance to safe our lives. And secondly a group of close friends took one song of our favorite local band Spoegwolf and the changed the words around to fit perfectly in by our life. They sang it as a surprise on the wedding and it made us laugh and cry...it was perfect!
We had the most amazing honeymoon at the most beautiful Serenity Mountain and Forest Lodge in Malelane. With tranquil scenery perfect for relaxing in the magical nature all around with little treasures such as Nyala drinking water in the river stream. Or giraffes playing in the mountain road. The staff was fabulous and they even hosted us a special fire boma special dinner. They have brilliant spa treatments too. Everything you need. We also went on drives to the Kruger National Park and were lucky with the big 5.
As an artist I designed my wedding dress while working in Korea, it was made by a Korean from Fluer De Lis Brides. After I received the dress I started to paint my dress by hand. I painted all my dearest's favorite flowers. I'm known for being a barefoot flowerchild. My hair was rainbow ombre with a big flower crown featuring some of my husband's favorite flowers especially the Krismisrose. Something old was my late grandma's opal earings. Something new was a golden chain and opal necklace from my mother. And Something borrowed was my one best friend's mom's (which is my
mom's best friend) golden bracelet. And something blue was my garter. My wedding shoes was handmade by a dear friend from The Blue Serif Group. She made "vellies" for me as I became a farmer's wife. Our main theme was art especially inspired by Van Gogh. So she painted Van Gogh inspired sunflowers on the leather shoes.
We got married at the most beautiful and fairy-tale venue called Onder Engele. It is classical romantic scenery with rose gardens and wildflowers too. Forest and angels everywhere. The wedding team is on point! The garden to table was excellent. Everything was just magical. We slept on the venue in the most beautiful honeymoon suite and got a most delicious breakfast the next morning. Some of our guest also stayed there and others stayed all around. The venue is very convenient as there are many guesthouse and other stays around and because it is close to Brits its also not too far from Johannesburg or Pretoria.
