I woke up around 6am and could not believe it: The day finally arrived. I'm overwhelmed with emotions as the day I've dreamed of as a little girl is now a reality. We got ready at Thyme Guesthouse and the room was filled with excitement and joy. It was a beautiful sight to see the faces of my bridal party and my parents when I did the reveal after my designer dressed me in an elegant wedding gown.
Another magical moment was when my dad walked me down the aisle, while I'm ugly crying, and handing me over to the man of my dreams.
The most special moment for both of us was the vows. Declaring our love to each other and making a promise before God and our guests was special and sacred.
Our honeymoon was a week away in Knysna. I wanted to surprise Jill with the break-away but on our way there, my estate agent called and I got carried away in the conversation. I mentioned that we were en-route to Knysna and immediately regretted it. I looked over to my left, and saw Jill looking at me and smiling.
The wedding theme was simple yet elegant. I've been obsessed with Lauren's work for years, and I always told myself I will wear a "Lauren R Couture" dress on my wedding day. She made my dress just as I wanted it and made me feel like goddess.
Our make up was done by Emily-Rose Van Diemel with shades of nude for a more natural look.

The gents and I wore tailored black suits from Eurosuit. Black ties, cuff-links and funky South African flag socks.
Bridesmaids got the most beautiful flowy dresses from Shein in the colour emerald green.
The Reverend Simon Prins. Uncle Simon is a family friend and somebody who I've known my entire life.
The Avenue House. Ah what a pleasure these two are. Anke, the photographer, and Jared the videographer. We would recommend them to anybody in a heartbeat.
For our guest book, the guests took Instax pictures and pasted it in our book and wrote a note next to it.
Lisa at Cassia at Nitida was our on-the-day coordinator. Also, what a legend. Our wedding cake had fallen apart a bit as a result of the off-centre weight of the flowers and the freshness of the cake, but we didn't know about this until the next day when the MC, and groomsman, told us how they scrambled to sort everything out.
Legendary.
We practiced dances we saw on TikTok and that worked well, unsurprisingly. Haha. We're pretty decent dancers, *cue modesty*.
NSE Music took care of the tunes and PA system, to great effect.
