The most memorable moment was seeing the look of absolute love and adoration from my wife to be whilst walking show the isle, I had to avoid eye contact with her until the very end so that I wouldn't cry, a definite highlight for me was the moment I realised that I am surrounded by so much love, every person there was what made our wedding so incredible.
I unfortunately could not get much time off work being in the hospitality industry, but my wife and I did manage to spoil ourselves on a 2 night holiday in Ballito, we stayed at a great little b&b called LeBezz. I will definitely return for a longer stay soon.
I saw a beautiful dress that I adored online, it would have taken too long to get here if I ordered it but luckily an old high school friend of mine lives in the area and she was able to make it for me on short notice, and she did an amazing job! Claire Chaise, you are a super star. My hair was in a loose up style perfected by David Deetlifs, a very talented hairdresser in Meerensee, and my shoes... well, thank heavens for my best friend Jess who was able to find me a pair of shimmering rose gold stilettos the day before the wedding! Otherwise I may well have been bare foot.
We were lucky enough to be able to hold our ceremony and reception in two different sections of our back yard. Blessed by greenery and the set up was nothing short of jaw dropping compliments of Zane Ostreline and all our amazing friends who jumped in the help.
My brides maids truly pampered me with a full body massage and pedi a few says before the wedding at Indaba Lodge Spa, I was also treated to a manicure, a Carribean spray tan, and just hours and hours of soulful special people.
Zane Ostreline did everything for us, our friends assisted and made our venue more beautiful than we could have ever imagined. Mostly the decor belonged to himself, and those friends, we stuck to the greenery of our surroundings, a marque with fairy lights and draping, 3 bonfires surrounding the tent, and bunting and petals everywhere we looked, the green was broken with hints of mustard throughout the venue.
We are a gay couple, so we both dressed as the beautiful women we are. Deme (my wife) in a stunning ivory jumpsuit and our brides maids in forest green infinity dresses.
Our brides maids wore green infinity dresses sourced locally by a friend of a friend. We really didnt use any service provides, we preferred to make use of our many talented friends.
We had to get married at home affairs, but that allowed us to invite our dear friend Caryn Overton to be our officiate, if it was not for this wonderful woman we (my wife and I) would probably never have met. And she did an incredible job joining our souls forever.
Our photographer was the ever talented Kim Steinberg. She was our dream photographer and we made every sacrifice to ensure we could have her capture our most special dad, and she did not disappoint.
He is not a planner.... but he definitely should become one! Our dear friend Zane Ostreline.
Our wedding cake was made my Tjips and Tjokolates. The provided exactly what we asked for. The food was made by my own Chef from work, Sidney and my in laws previous Chef from their lodge, Tomas. We had a sheep on the spit and a pig on the spit. Our canapes were gifted to us by our lovely "other mother" Linda Melville, they were oysters and platters provided by Porkies. Delicious
Signforce printed our stickers for our party favors. They were designed by my incredibly talented wife.
