We went to Kokoriba for our honeymoon
We went for a Nordic theme: braids and beads in the hair, jewelry mostly gold, pendant earrings, wedding dress had corset boning with a lace up back and the veil was more of a hood, there was also a fur coat that later replaced the veil to keep warm.
We got married at Riverside Country Estate, some of our guests stayed over at the venue and joined us for breakfast the following morning.
Honestly, nothing fancy. I mainly used handmade goatmilk and honey soap to clean my face every day to tame any breakouts.
The colour theme was burgundy, gold and woody colours, we had lots of greenery with fairylights and wooden lanterns filled with warm toned flowers that was in season at the time. The bide and groom table had two antique goblets to toast from.
The groom wore a black shirt with a burgundy waistcoat and tie. The groomsmen wore burgundy shirts with black waistcoats and ties.
The bridesmaids wore burgundy infinity dresses with a mesh skirt and black heels.
Ken Appelcryn
Ellen and Marco worked together to capture all our special moments. We had a photobooth with Viking themed props and a giant ring structure filled with botanicals to act as a frame.
Hein was our coordinator for the day.
Riverside staff took care of the delicious food and the beautiful cake.
Our DJ was Gary, he also did the lighting. Ruan and I did not have any lessons but we did practice in the livingroom until we knew what to do. My dad and I just decided to wing it.
