Jared and I had a wedding nothing short a fairytale. Our venue has the most beautiful views and landscapes I ever seen. All our suppliers were fantastic and everything went better than I could have ever imagined. The experience from start to finish was something I could have never prepared myself for. The love and happiness we experienced was unmatched and I can honestly say it was the best day of our lives.
We went on Holiday to the beautiful Thailand. Spent most of our days sipping cocktails on Thailand's beaches. The food was an experience on its own and to this day I find myself eating enjoying Thai food. Thailand is very affordable so touring was an absolute pleasure. The local people are kind and compassionate making you feel so welcome that you might never want to leave.
My look was what I like to call contemporary. Although we had a traditional Indian wedding in terms or the prayers and customs my outfit was far from traditional. I wore a lengha from the Memsaab couture range which is a unique designer piece. My lengha was not the traditional red or burnt orange that tamil brides are known to be married in. It was a shade of nude, the bead work had a variety of subtle colours with soft pink feathers. The dupatta was peach and silver and the lengha skirt had a small train at the end. My husband outfit was ordered from India and was not an exact match to be but complemented my outfit perfectly. He was a very modern Sherwani that looked more like an Indian suit. Our outfits were a huge hit with our guests and suppliers.
We got married at The glades farm Balgowan In the picturesque KZN midlands.
I kept my skin care routine very simple and used sunblock and moisturizer as I got closer to the wedding. about six months or more prior to the wedding I started using retinol, niacinamide and vitamin C and although all of these made my skin look amazing there is a bad phase at the beginning with retinol especially. So closer to my wedding I stopped all the acids about 2 weeks before because I have rosacea and didn't want to risk a flare up at the wedding.
My decor has a boho natural theme with hints of blue and white. we used pampas grass, white roses and some navy blue flowers. At most hindu weddings a lord Ganesha statue is present. I had my florist stencil out a hanging ganesha at my wedding ceremony and it was beautiful and unusual.
We had a photo booth created inline with the natural theme. our photographers and videographers were Alla. We also hired a drone and have drone footage and photos
I have planned corporate events for about 8 years so I planned my own wedding and designed the logos stationary etc
The food was prepared by Chilli Chocolate Chefs. We served Canapés in-between the ceremony and reception and served a 3 course plated menu at the reception.
Our Dj was heartbeats Rudi and we went for dance lessons to five six seven eight
