Magical Moments

We had a weekend celebration at the lovely Pat Busch Mountain Reserve in Robertson which accommodated all our guests for the weekend. It’s a beautiful reserve in the valley between the mountains. We wanted our guests all to ourselves, so Pat Busch was perfect as everyone could relax and enjoy the weekend celebrations.

We had our ceremony in the forest and I walked down the aisle to one of our best men singing a song we wrote us a few years ago. One of the groomsmen who Marcel grew up with married us. We were so lucky to have such an intimate ceremony.

We dined around round tables submerged in candle light and good company. Each couple received a hot stone on which they grilled their food on. We served tuna and fillet steaks with fresh bread, garlic butter tomatoes and onions with a green salad. We danced the night away under the stars and celebrated our love with our most special people!

The Honeymoon

We have not been on our honeymoon as yet. We wanted to have something to look forward to. We love nature and we travel to Africa often. We would love to to drive to Kenya and visit the Serengeti, so hopefully we'll be able to go in October if all goes to plan!

My Special Day

In my husbands words - Fairytale Vibes :-) I was wearing my dream dress by Olympe. It was bought at Veil Bridal in Sandton. Hair and make-up was done by Made Up Co, I wanted my hair down with some loose curls and soft, natural make-up. My shoes were plain and a pearl white from Bride & Co at Century City. My earrings were from Hellohaai and our stunning wedding rings from the most talented Isabel Jewellery Design Studio.

The Venue

At Pat Busch Mountain Reserve in Robertson. We chose this venue not only for the stunning venue amongst the mountains, but also because they accommodated our wedding guests. Everyone was able to stay in their own cottage/glamping tent. The farm offers hiking routes, swims in the dam, a swimming pool, wood-fired hot tubs and canoeing. We didn't want anyone to feel rushed to leave or drive late at night, but to be honest, we really wanted our guests all to ourselves for the entire weekend!

My Bridal Beauty Regime

Health & Fitness: Loads of runs, cold water immersions, healthy food and Barre Body by Raise the Barre.
Hair: I went to get some hair extensions, highlights and a fresh cut at Just Peachy in Claremont. I would highly recommend them!
Nails: Miyoko Beauty - I was INLOVE with mine

Wedding Elements

We wanted a simple but warm and cosy atmosphere and dance under the stars. Loads of fairy lights, basket lights and greenery draping from the tent roof. Blomstories did an amazing job with our single flower vessels and beautiful candles scattered on each table.

Tent & Stage: Elite

My Groom And His Groomsmen

We had the groom's suit and groomsmen pants made by Tux Tailor. They did an amazing job! White linen shirts were from OGCT and shoes were sponsored by the amazing Veldskoen!

Beautiful Bridesmaids

I wanted to give each bridesmaid a choice of wearing what they wanted to wear with pastels in mind. We rented most of the dresses from Style Rotate and one of the dresses were made by Lenalisa Designer. It all looked absolutely beautiful and we were so happy with the dresses!

Marriage Officer

The pastor that married Marcels' parents married us on the Friday at a private ceremony. And then.. Marcels' best friend who he grew up with did a beautiful ceremony for us on the Saturday with all our best friends and family.

My Captured Moments

Hayley Takes Photos captured our day. She did an amazing job by capturing moments of our day. We loved having her and highly recommend her as she did an amazing job!

The Wedding Planner

Yes! She was incredible, one of the best vendors of the wedding! Anna-Marie from Tiger Lily is highly recommended. She did it all so effortlessly and stylish at the same time. We are still in touch and she felt like family.

Wedding Transport

We didn't need to arrange any wedding transport as all our guests slept at the venue. Our wedding car was our Land Rover Defender which was built up by Marcel and his dad during lockdown and we travel Africa with it regularly so it's really special to us!

Food & Cake

Tamatiestraat did an amazing job. Marcel and I were in Tofo, Mozambique. We were craving tuna and ordered it from a local restuarant where we were served a hot stone on a brick with fresh garlic butter tuna steaks, tomato and onion. We grilled our own food on the hot plates and instantly decided that is what we'd like to do for our wedding cuisine.

Our wedding cake was made by my talented mother in law, Rouvé. The cake was decorated with preserved flowers from my company, Skaam.

Wedding Stationery

I designed our stationery and print it at Wizardz. The designs included preserved flowers which was done by Skaam (www.skaam.co.za)

The Reception and Entertainment

No dance lessons, but we just wanted to have fun with it. Our good friends are DJ's (Playground Twins) and they organised the sound and lighting for the dance floor.
