Waking up, knowing that today is going to be the best day of my life was an incredible feeling. I made myself a cup of tea and sat outside to do my devotions, spend time in prayer and prepare myself for our special day was definitely a highlight for me. It helped calm any nerves and set the tone for the day.
Being with my bridesmaids and moms while we all got ready was so special.
The number one highlight for me though, was arriving at the venue, waiting at the bottom of the aisle and linking arms with my dad. The musicians started playing Theme from Canon in D and I saw Paul standing there waiting for me and I was just overcome with emotion...I couldn't think of anyone else or notice anything around me. All my focus was on my Groom!
Paul surprised me and took me to Pumba Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape for 2 nights and then we headed back to Plett for 4 nights at the Beacon Island Resort. We are planning on doing an overseas trip at a later stage.
We wanted a classic theme with a modern touch. Our colors were shades of green and white. My dress theme was called Forest Rain as it was inspired by the beautiful lush forests of the garden route. The style was mermaid with a long dramatic veil. The ladies at Fender Bridal Design went out of their way to personalize my dress and added subtle details that just made the dress a work of art. I had a second dress for the reception. A true fairytale princess dress in the theme of a rose garden. Shoes: Steve Madden
Hair: Mj Artistry
Makeup: ashcrazedmakeup
Jewelry: Lovisa
We got married at the most beautiful venue in Plettenberg Bay called The Rose Pavilion on Bosky Dell Farm. Our guests stayed in and around Plettenberg Bay. Myself and my bridal party stayed at Lairds Country Lodge and we got ready there the day of the wedding. The men stayed at Knysna Elephant Park Lodge and got ready there.
I don't believe in dieting before the wedding however, I tried to eat a healthy diet, drink lots of water to clear up my skin and exercise. I trained at Body20 and did my own exercise in between those sessions.
The Ceremony: We had greenery wrapped around wire hanging from the ceiling running above the aisle. We attached ferns to the chairs along the aisle. All leading to the most beautiful arch made up of greenery and beautiful white blooms! We also had chandeliers hanging above the arch.
The reception: Our sweetheart table was the focal point as you walked in to the pavilion. A beautiful table runner consisted of greenery and white blooms, candles on either ends of the table on the floor and on the table itself. A beautiful lush hanging garden hung above the table.
The guests tables were minimalistic with white Linen table cloths, candles and a single fern on their plates. I used flat grey stones as their name place. Ferns attached to the back of the Tiffany chairs and hanging gardens above all the tables with naked bulbs and fairy lights.
There were plenty of fairy lights and candles through the reception area. All hanging gardens were made of greenery and an assortment of white flowers.
The Groom wore a Custom made suit in a deep forest green tailored at the Tux Tailor in Stellenbosch. With smart black shoes.
The groomsmen wore sage green chinos from Trenery, a white shirt and sage green bow ties with grey suspenders from That Bloke SA with smart brown shoes
My bridesmaids wore infinity wrap dresses in dusty sage green from Bridal Alchemy. They each wore them in a different style. With beige heels or flats of their choice. Accessories from Lovisa
My uncle (Ingbert Misselhorn) who is a minister, conducted our ceremony and did an amazing job of it!
We had Pastor Ockie Taylor do all the legal work.

No, we planned our wedding ourselves. However, we had a venue coordinator on the day named Rae who is the owner of The Rose Pavilion.
We used the shuttle service from Lairds Country Lodge where I was staying.
Caterer: Dee's Catering
Wedding Cake: Mila from Milas Cakes George
I designed my own stationary and Peter Atterbury from Dpictcreative who also did our photography, organized the printing of everything.
Paul and I didn't take dance lessons. We just winged it and watched a lot of YouTube tutorials! Haha
My mom and I did a Mother Daughter dance. (it was a surprise on the day) and we went for lessons at John Murray Dance Studio in Somerset West.
My dad and I did a father daughter song instead of a dance.
My dad is a musician and him and his friend Abrie did all the sound and live music. In between they also became the Djs along with our MC.
At our ceremony and on the lawn for canapés and drinks, we had a violinist and cellist who played some absolutely beautiful music from Classic Music Events
