We are high school sweet hearts. It all began at one of our school galas where we met. He was best friends with someone I knew from school.
He was super goofy at the time and did anything and everything to get my attention.
Long story short, he managed to get my number and we started to chat... and as they say, the rest is history.
9 years later and he asked me to be his forever♡
He had planned a weekend away with my best friend. The two of them arranged everything - the place where he would bend on one knee, the romantic chalet, the flowers, the champaign, the proposal shoot.
He planned a weekend away to Marloth Park. He knows I LOVE the Kruger National Park and one of my favourite spots is the Lower Sabie Rest camp overlooking the River.
We all went for, what I thought was an innocent walk along the camp's fence walkway overlooking the river, and my best friend decided to take 'photos' of the two of us. We did the typical Mr and Mrs Smith pose and I stood there for what felt like hours while he tried to get the ring box out of his pocket (which got stuck). Just as I decided it was enough of the pose (back to back), I turned and there he was... on one knee, giggling nervously and asked me to be his forever.
It was the perfect moment, the perfect place and I got to share it with my best friends.
It was magical, special and overwhelmingly immaculate.
It was a quick trip back to Marloth Park after that. When we got back to the camp, I climbed out of the car onto hundreds and hundreds of flower petals leading to our chalet. The chalet was filled with chocolates, more flowers, champaign and luxuries goodies.
I was told to freshen up and fix my make up and get ready for our proposal shoot in the bush. It was perfect!!!
I had no idea that it was coming.
He incorporated everything we love in one of the most special days of our lives..
