I was blessed enough to have so many memorable moments on our wedding day!
With Covid 19, I was so worried I wouldn’t have the privilege of having close family living abroad attend our special day, luckily travel restrictions were lifted and I was able to meet my nieces for the very first time! Needless to say I had the best flower girl in the world!
Another goosebump moment happened just after we had praise and worship, it started to rain at our ceremony! Wow! God is good! Blessing our union!
It was really a day filled with love, friends and family. With moments we will remember for the rest of our lives!
We were so blessed that travel restrictions weren’t so strict anymore! My husband has never been abroad, and really wanted to go big with our honeymoon! We are both ocean lovers and decided to go to the gorgeous Maldives!
What an experience! We had some lazy beach days and other days were packed with adventure! From diving with sharks to snorkelling hours on end, and getting a bit sunburned!
I wanted to feel like a real princess on our big day! My gorgeous dress is by Sadie Bosworth and wow, she really made my dream dress come to life! It was absolutely whimsical! My hair and makeup was by the talented Cornel Vlok, she really understood the assignment by making me feel authentic and true to myself!
We got married at The One Heaven and Earth just outside of Caledon in the Overberg region. This venue fulfilled all my wildest dreams of having a forest wedding. There were fairy lights, a glass house and a beautiful forest! It felt like something out of a fairytale novel!

Our wedding theme was very classic and so to say simplistic, sometimes less is more! We had a bonsai tree placed on each of our tables covered with fairy lights. We had some homemade candles on the tables, with eucalyptus leaves scattered throughout! We are a very artistic family and were able to do all our decor by ourselves! I would like to especially thank my mother-in-law for all her creativity and love when it came to decorating our tables!
My bridal bouquet and bridesmaids flowers were provided by Mystical Flowers Langebaan. Yvette was very kind and did an amazing job with bringing my ideas to life!
We went with the classic black & white suit and tie look for the groom and his groomsmen with a little twist, they all wore funky socks! And man oh man, they all looked very charming!
I wanted my bridesmaids to feel completely comfortable and authentic to themselves! I gave my girls free reign to wear whatever dress style they felt good in! They could even where jumpsuits! As long as they wore it in black and that it was full length! They all looked absolutely GORGEOUS!
Our marriage officer was my husband’s grandfather! How special? He was the wedding officiant at my parents in law’s wedding and now ours!
Our wedding photographer and videographer was Dancing Wolf Weddings. We were so blessed to have entered and won an instagram competition to have full day wedding photography and videography covered by them! Chris and his brother Corné made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera, and they did an excellent job of capturing the most special moments of our lives! We are forever grateful for them, they really are the best!
Our wedding caterer was done by none other than Kolassal hospitality. Chef Bridget and her team created beautifully and aesthetic canapés that were so yummy! For our main we had an all time favourite: gourmet burgers with potato wedges, it was absolutely DELICIOUS!
I did most of my wedding stationary myself! I have always had a passion for design and art, and this was the perfect opportunity for me to get the creative juices flowing! I made a wedding website for our guests to have easy access to all the information about the day of our wedding. It was very efficient and this way we had no paper waste!
For our wedding favours, we had the most adorable succulents made in geometric cement pots! They were such a fun touch and the guests absolutely LOVED them! These were provided by Stuck on You Favours, their service was really 10/10!
