ZANZIBAR! As we had a destination wedding, we felt no reason to rush anywhere afterwards but rather just stay on the island and reminisce on memories of the day and past week with loved ones.
They say your wedding day flies by, this I cannot stress enough - it goes by so quickly! Wiehann and I feel so incredibly grateful we decided on a week of celebrating and making memories.
Getting married in the middle of Africa on a tiny island your recourses are limited! Having said this, it made things simple and easy (for me at least). Less choice = less stress!
On the day, I did my own hair and make-up with some assistance from my beautiful friends.
My wedding dress was made by the talented Nicolle @House of Santos. https://www.houseofsantos.co.za/
This was easily one of the biggest highlights of planning my wedding - each appointment felt incredibly special. Nicolle understood my vision clearly and made it all come together perfectly. As my 'something blue' I had mentioned to her I'd like to somehow incorporate my late grandmothers blue suit. She made me the prettiest getting ready PJ set from the material. The care she took when making these was incredible! I will treasure these - always.
My wedding earrings were made by @HelloHaai. https://www.shophellohaai.co.za/
A local company that hand make the most beautiful bridal earrings. This girls got skill! Absolutely loved the personalized note with my order wishing me well for the big day too.
We said "I do" on a beautiful and rustic beach in Zanzibar. Nestled on the Northern-West coast of the island, this was our paradise. We were fortunate enough to have some of our closes friends and family join us for a week of celebrating.
