The highlight of my wedding day was the way my Beloved looked at me when I came down the isle and stood next to him. Another highlight was the girls getting ready the morning, Katarina Karoo Guest House lit a fire for us,served us with sparkling wine and platters and we just had an entire morning stress free and filled with Joy!
We were gifted a 4 night stay in a cozy log cabin at Lake Pleasant located in Sedgefield. We spent the days visiting the beaches located around the Knysna and Plettenberg areas.
My wedding look was a hint of Timeless Elegance,Vintage Romance mixed with a Fairytale Dreams come true. I had the wonderful privilege to design and sew my own wedding dress, alongside my bridesmaids dresses and flowergirl dresses.
Oh yes!And I went for Rosegold vellies, same color as my dress, with fabric collaborations of blush and dusty pinks and undertones of nudes.
Imy hair was in a braided updo with loose curls, and my make-up very natural with some rosegold tints and I wore fake lashes for the first time in my life! My amazing other half gifted me with a Swarovski bracelet and a lovenote via his sister the morning of our wedding. This rounded everything off perfectly.
Sadly we couldn't afford our original venue of choice, and were granted a second option. Closer to the wedding our guest list outgrew the venue capacity, and they could no longer accommodate us. Then we found the venue we eventually used at a great price, and their facilities catered to all our needs. They were also willing to help us with a booking two weeks before the wedding! Langehoven Gimnasium Sports Club came to our rescue at the last minute!
Most of our guests and family stayed at Cango's Rest and Kleinplaas Resort, both loacted in Oudtshoorn.
I had a very simple beauty regime leading up to the wedding. This basically included my normal face care wash and moisturize routine with a few spacial treats consisting of me getting my nails done, eyebrows tinted and shaped at Ladi La Bella, a local beauty salon in my hometown of Ladismith. Christelle did an amazing french fade gel overlay with my nails with glitter details and only slightly tinted my eyebrows,so that it would look elevated, but still very natural!
My décor was very rustic, still chic and elevated with rosegold centerpieces and underplates followes with sage green linen serviettes. Although we rented most of the decor items, there were natural elements which nature provided without charge, like the pepper tree brances we used as table overlays. We used very minamlistic flower details in-between the branches and the roses that still blooms until today were especially collected from Rosenhof Farm. They also supplied the tulips doe my beautiful bouquet.
The groom and his hired their ensambked deom Mr Suit Hire in Worcester where the groom is originally from. The suspenders were a gift from the groom, and the bride made the bow ties,to complete the final look.
The bridesmaids wore nude colored differently styled cocktail dresses that brought out the color of wedding dress's roswgolds and pinks beautifully. I created them with the help of my maid of honor,Bianca who is also very handy with a needle, and the fabric I used was a flowy hammered satin.
Michelle Nieuwoudt from Klapperbos Photography, was the amazingly talented (non wedding photographer) who captured our special moments. I have used her services for many projects over the years, and I knew we could fully trust her commitment to quality. And there is not a single grain of dissapointment in the final products we received. She exceeded all our expectations!
My wedding planner was a combination between my Mother in Love, my Mom,and a few other very special ladies in my life. Who needs a professional when you have a team of mission minded women?!
My wedding car was my Father in Love's black Jeep which he sweetly decorated with dusty pink ribbon and rosegold balloons.
Our caterer was Jolandi from Wild Foods Café, Oudtshoorn, and she and her team gave us a five star two course meal( we provided our own pudding),and they even washed all the crockery afterwards and washed all our linen serviettes as a kind gesture. Excellent service!
My very talented husband,(fiancé at the time), designed all our stationary, and my one bridesmaid Ostelle and her husband owns a print shop Cybertel in Ladismith, and they joyfully did all our printing.
Our reception was so chilled! We had an amazing MC,Rohan who kept the guests entertained with his incredible one liners, jokes, and ice breakers! We didn't hire a DJ,neither could we afford a live band. Daniel and I created a music playlist before the time, and we simply plugged in our cellphones and had a groomsman operate it!
