An official honeymoon has not yet been booked however we did go on a mini-moon the night after our wedding we stayed at a country lodge in Irene Pretoria. This was the first hotel we had stayed in together as a couple and it was absolutely amazing. This allowed us to unwind and relax and remember all the wonderful moments of our wedding the day before before our long journey awaiting us the next day as we travelled back to KZN where we live. We are looking forward to going on a honeymoon together in the future when we can both agree on a destination (Cruise VS Kruger National Park).
Our stunning bush venue was of course Leopard Lodge. From the second my now hubby and I drove through the gates we just knew that this was the venue of our dreams. This was only confirmed when we met the staff and toured the venue. All the absolutely breathtaking views made the choice of venue very easy. With so much accomodation available on sight this made it easier for our travelling family to join us and stay the night (allowing the party to continue the next morning at breakfast). Most of the accomodation is within walking distance of our reception and the rest is a quick drive down the hill but still on the same property. The views of both Hartebeespoort Dam and the mountains made for the most beautiful pictures and memories which will be cherished for the rest of our lives.

My beautiful girls in pink chose their own dresses from Refinery and they both wore the same tea length, open back, puff sleeve dusty pink dress. Pink is hubby and my favourite colour so when deciding on what colour my girls should wear it was a no brainer and the specific shade of pink complimented both of their skin tones and differing hair colours perfectly. They both looked stunning and were comfortable and are now able to wear the dress again. This was very important to me as to often you are asked to be a bridesmaid and buy a stunning dress to wear on the wedding day but the dress then sits in your cupboard and collects dust which is very sad to me. The particular dress my girls ended up wearing was one they had both contemplated buying for themselves before I asked them to be my bridesmaids and when they asked if they could wear this Refinery dress it was the second easiest YES I had ever said (the first being when my hubby asked me to marry him).
My best friends and bridesmaids dad is a Marriage Officer and performed our wedding ceremony however for his privacy I will not be mentioning him as he does not do weddings very often any more.
The amazing photographer for our special wedding day was Lilly Leigh Photography. This husband and wife team are experts in the field of photography and from the moment they were at the venue I knew I was in the best hands possible. They both had cameras and were shooting pictures from all angles, this was so amazing as it allowed us to receive pictures from all angles and allowed for many candid moments to be captured. During the getting ready process many beautiful candid moments were captured both by me (the bride) as well as where my hubby-to-be at the time was getting ready. This allowed us both to look back and relive the moments of getting ready but also allowed me to see how his morning looked for him to see how my morning looked. From the ceremony to our family pictures and our couples pictures to our recpetion Lilly Leigh Photography made us feel comfortable and ensured the whole time that we knew what was happening and made sure we got the most out of our day in terms of photography. This husband and wife team truly have a talent and special gift in photography they are the best!
For a few months of our engagement leading up to our wedding we were doing a long distance relationship which was difficult but it allowed me to have plenty of time to design and play around with different designs for stationery items. Thus all items were designed by me the bride and printed at home. Being a teaching student and having a flair for creativity I loved the idea of being able to design all our wedding stationery myself, it allowed me to make sure that all items had some sort of a link and something in common. It also allowed me to think of all details of the wedding as I designed everything which was probably one of the best things I could have done for myself because it elimintated majority of the worrying and stressing if I had remembered everything for the special day.
