The planning of the most magical day was set into motion on 24 September 2022 with a proposal at the beautiful Shepherd Tree Game Lodge in the heart of Pilanesberg. At the time when selecting the wedding date, 28 October 2023, who would have thought that this would fall on the very same day of the Rugby World Cup where our South African team were playing in the finals. Everyone else would see this probably as a shortcoming in the planning and what a risk taken to incorporate the screening of the Rugby World Cup into the wedding of which this risk paid up with jubilation in celebrations across the country with our Springboks successfully defending our title with back to back wins, bringing the trophy back home.
All the stars were aligned this glorious day, with the day unfolding like a story under the sunny blue sky, battling blistering cold winds, racing down mountains to seize unforgettable moments. Grateful for the magic of this day and the memories etched in each photograph, perfectly encapsulating the true essence of a union, being unwavering love.

We went on a short honeymoon in Krakeelpoort Herberg set in Botrivier in the Western Cape region surrounded by the tranquility of nature.
Wedding look
The wedding look was inspired by the architecture of the working farm, Bosjes and surrounding Waaihoek and Slanghoek mountains with nature as the star of the show in all it's glory, complimented by sage, white and gold as the colour palette. The brief to My Pretty Vintage was to include lots of candles to create mood lighting that created the right tone and ambience for the perfect occasion with long centered tables as the floor plan that encouraged deep conversations and connection. Trunk Events where the wedding coordinators that ensured our vision was brought to life with alignment throughout the decor, entertainment (DJ Garth - Daring Events and Hiring, Ethan Florus Singer and Songwriter and Saxophonist from Shout Music Company) , service and the reception giving our guests an experience that hopefully linger on for centuries and a wonderful remembrance of every rugby world cup to follow. Outdoor furniture was provided by Authentic Planning which added to the pre-drinks setting allowing the guests to fully take in the beautiful landscape.
Hair & Makeup
Hair & Makeup was done by LA Makeup Artistry who celebrated my distinguished natural curls and beauty. The brief was to embrace woman with curly hair where I wanted my very curly hair to be celebrated and they did a good job in doing so. The makeup enhanced my natural beauty with very light foundation with my big brown eyes highlighted.
Wedding dress and shoes
The wedding dress from Bride&Co had a bohemian influence that perfectly matched my personality with shoes from Queenspark that mirrored a glass slipper in initiating my fairytale love story.
Lingerie
Lingerie was from Woolworths with the perfect fit and elegance for every women's body.
Jewellery
Wedding rings from Arthur Kaplan. Earrings was from a market in Lisbon purchased on holiday by my mother about 10 years ago that my mother gave to me, which are earrings that she absolutely loves and treasures. It's white gold encrusted in small diamonds with a dangling pearl that perfectly complimented my dress.

The bridal beauty regime was centered around self-love with healthy balanced meal eating habits and drinking of lots of water to ensure skin radiance and the flushing out of toxins. Bridesmaids dresses were made with their look inspired by their natural beauty. They had free terrain to ensure that they were comfortable with their hair and makeup so that they feel extremely comfortable and as beautiful on the day.
Marriage officer was Dr Kiwiet Vlok and Dr Piff Pereira, grandfather to the bride.
The photographer with Michael Tree and Videographer was Kopel Kreative who where both amazing.
We used Trunk Events as our wedding planner with Tracy effectively project managing all key elements of our wedding. Our family and I are so grateful to this incredible team and all the partners who worked together to make our wedding so special and absolutely top tier.
We got to experience every single element of this wedding as we had comfort, peace and support with the professionalism of this team.

We had a DJ, Singer and Saxophonist. DJ Garth from Daring Events and Hiring ensure all sound requirements were catered for with Ethan Florus Singer and Songwriter who serenaded the guests over pre-drinks and Saxophonist from Shout Music Company who opened the dance floor with Bride and Groom and Father and Daughter Dance.
