One of the most memorable moments for me was the moment the chapel doors opened and I looked down the aisle to see my now Husband in tears, having absolutely no idea what to do with himself and getting to his and just wiping his tears away. We shared our wedding day with our most special family and friends. Everything just went so perfectly. We did things a little differently and my sister in law handed me over to Gavin. It was a symbolic moment. The fun started when all the formalities were over and everyone changed into comfy clothes and we partied the night away. Which ended with a late night swim in the pool at the venue.
We were initially going to go to Mauritius, but my hubby tore his ACL and due to that we didn't want to travel to far, so we went with our next best option. Sun City. We spent 5 days at the Palace. Went for a couples massage, which needless to say was amazing. Spent many hours next to the pool with cocktails and pizza. Just us two. It was beautiful.
I went with a very, simple but elegant look. My hair and make-up was done by Blush Make up and Hair. They were absolutely amazing. My dress I got from Elizabeth Stockenstrom. Abigail was the best. Shoes I bought at Woolworths. I small, yet very comfortable heel. I didn't have much jewellery and accessories. My earrings were my something borrowed from my sister-in-law, it was her wedding earrings. With my nails I went with a classic french tip but with a bit of a twist. My nails were done by Jolande's Nail Designs.
We got married at the beautiful Langkloof Roses.
Our guests were able to stay at the venue. Many stayed the night before and the night of the wedding.
I did not have a beauty regime leading up to the wedding at all. I felt so bad about it. It was basically, what you see is what you get kind of moments. The only major thing I had done was my nails, and i had my eye brows waxed.
We went very much of a subtle, kind of rustic theme. We had mostly pastel pink, white, rose gold. I realized that with our reception area. Less is more. So we focused mainly on lighting, using candles and naked bulbs, with a lot of greenery. We also had an outside dance floor which we decorated with naked bulbs and fairy lights.

My bridesmaids wore beautiful pink dresses, which we got last minute at China Town in Milnerton.
My main goal was to make sure my bridesmaids were as comfortable as could be, therefore I told them to wear shoes that were comfortable for them. Both chose sandals with some bling.
Dominee Alwyn Carstens.
Dominee Alwyn had us do couples counselling leading up to the wedding. This was the most amazing experience. So many finer details of not only our relationship us as individuals became so much more clear.

I did all this myself with help of family and friends.
With my husband only being a month post-op by the time we got married, our first dance was the one thing we didn't do much effort with. We shared the moment together but I asked our bridal party to take some pressure off of us, by joining in half way through the song.
We had a DJ who also was in charge of our lighting. - DJ Glen
