My Special Day

I did a traditional braid with beads, the hair was done at Romeo and Juliet hair Salon at Southgate mall.
My jewelry was a gift from the bridal shower, a fresh water pearl necklace and teardrops earrings together with a bracelet to match.
Lingerie was also a gift from the bridal shower, it was black.
I do not believe in throwing the garter so we didn't have that.
Shoes were my 'something old', a pair of my favourite ankle boots, it looked like rain that morning so I gave up my sandals for the boots.
The Sandals were also a gift from a friend as a way to congratulate me.
Make up was done by Mbali. She's also an upcoming very talented young lady who has a moving studio. I can provide her contact details.
The dress was purchased at bridal flora, the veil made by Tsolo.
The rings are from Stern's together with my second pair of jewelry and tiara (which I didn't wear)
I went for princess look and I pulled it off, 8f I say so myself.

The Venue

We had the wedding over the whole weekend.
We had traditional wedding on 23 April and the white on Sunday 24.
The traditional was at my parent's house.
The white was at Makiti wedding venue.
The guests didn't stay over at the wedding venue however the wedding venue does have rooms available to book.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

Everything was DIY.
I used salts to exfoliate my whole body.
I used treatment masks for the glow and smoother skin.
Moisturing and drinking a lot of water was part of it.
I couldn't eat much at all in the few weeks leading to the wedding so exercise was out of the question.

Wedding Elements

Everything came with the wedding venue.
We brought our own flowers and they were done at the flower market.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The groom and groomsmen wore navy blue suits.
They were bought from Exclusive suits

Beautiful Bridesmaids

They wore chiffon dresses which were tailor-made.
Different shades of the autumn colours.
The junior bridesmaids also wore custom made dresses. Theirs were made out of navy blue shweshwe material.

Marriage Officer

Icabold Monwabisi Tanase.
He's a minister.

My Captured Moments

Our photographer was introduced to us by one of my best friends.
The photographer's name is Sizwe Nkosi.
We did not use a photo booth

The Wedding Planner

The planner was provided for by the venue but she didn't do much so we did everything ourselves with the help of my friends, Lihle, Zanele and of course, my mum and daughters.

Wedding Transport

Everyone used their own cars.
I was driven by my nephew and my husband was driven by my brother.

Food & Cake

Our cake was made by Deedilz bakery.
She's a young and very talented lady. She set up the cake and polished it at the venue. She transported the cake herself.
She did a face to face consultation before making the cake to understand our needs, she then made samples of for us to taste and match what icing we wanted to go with what flavour cake.
Our cake was 4 tiers, each tier it's own unique flavour.
The cake was delicious.
We served one tier as part of the desert.

The rest of the food was prepared by the venue.
They have a standard menu for each package one chooses.

Wedding Stationery

My husband designed everything.
We printed only the menus and the seating chart.
The invitations remained electronic.

The Reception and Entertainment

The venue comes with a DJ and they have recorded step by step dance lesson on the wedding website they create for the couple.
