Our wedding weekend started with a welcoming braai on the Friday night where we socialised with our friends and family (especially the ones we don't see that often and those who travelled from far away!
Our ceremony started at 13:00 which left us with a lot of time to spend with our guests during canapé time.
A highlight in our ceremony was that my grandmother (aged 88) was my flowergirl. There wasn't a dry eye in the room.
My husband and I washed each other's feet during our ceremony which was a special, symbolic and intimate moment I will cherish forever!
We had awesome yet competitive lawn games and all our guests joined in and cheered each other on. This was such a fun component and everyone enjoyed being social.
Our toasts/speeches were done during our canapés and it ensured a relaxed atmosphere and everyone could appreciate the kind words!
We had an awesome 'game drive' with a few guests.
We had a live painter at our wedding who blessed us with beautiful artworks that we have the privilege of looking at every day.
Our guests surprised us with a flash mob dance as soon as we entered the reception hall. This set the tone for the rest of the evening where we enjoyed great food and danced the night away!
We had a great time away in our favourite place on earth - the Kruger National Park.
The style was a combination of boho and modern.
I wore a beautiful A-line gown from Michelangela Bridal Boutique.
The designer is Gabianno and name of the dress is Zola.
My jewellery was from Lovisa.
My makeup done by Sarita's Makeup Artistry.
Rhino Lodge in our home town - Standerton.
There was enough accommodation for all our guests at an affordable rate. Most of our guests stayed the whole weekend.
We had plenty of dried florals (pampas grass, bunny tails, wheat, etc.) with gold cutlery and candles, white vases and bamboo placemats. These were provided by LoveCo, sister company to the amazing Love Beloved.
The groom wore a toffee coloured suit from Markhams and the groomsmen wore chino's with white shirts.
The leather belts & ties were all from Groom & Co.
My bridesmaids wore burnt orange dresses and gold jewellery from Forever New.
Ricus van der Hoven
The Tiemensma's were the most amazing photographers! We also have a special wedding film to help us relive our day for many years to come.
The venue provided the food (which was amazing)!
My grandmother (88 years old) and a family friend baked cookies that we served with coffee & tea, instead of a wedding cake.
I designed all my own stationery which included the seating chart, welcome board, table numbers and menu's.
We had a live performer (Marli Monster) who is also a friend that entertained our guests during the canapés.
Our DJ was incredible - Moby's Sound & Lighting.
I choreographed our wedding dance with the help of my dear cousin Shani Daniel who owns a dance studio in our hometown. She helped us smooth out all our moves so we could have the best first dance ever.
