With lockdown restrictions that lifted a bit we were very fortunate to have a lovely honeymoon in Mauritius! As you might have guessed with us getting married in the midst of summer in the Cape Winelands we are real summer lovers and could not have selected a more perfect location for our honeymoon. Mauritius allowed us to relax and unwind at the beach after a stressful year of covid and wedding planning!
My wedding look was very classic as I always had the princess fairytale look in mind. I had my hair done in a low bun with natural looking makeup inspired by the Duchess of Cambridge.
My dress was custom made by the lovely Alana. From the beginning of my dress design I knew that I wanted an a-line/ballgown look with no lace or anything over the top while also being elegant and striking. Alana assisted me with shaping my dress into my absolute dream dress.

We got married at Diamant Estate in the boland dorp of Paarl. We selected this venue as it was always a dream for us to get married on a wine farm. As bride I also wanted a venue that had on site accommodation where we could peacefully wake up on the wedding morning and get ready without rushing anywhere, in addition we wanted the beautiful old manor house from the 1800's for our photos. Our families stayed over at the venue with us for the weekend as the venue could accommodate up to 22 guests. All other 80 guest sourced their accommodation in and around Paarl.
No specific treatments were done prior to our wedding. I tried my best to upkeep a healthy diet, drink lots of water and have a quick morning jog when possible. I also have my awesome trainers at Body20 Plattekloof to thank that trained me in the months leading up to the wedding.
My dream was always to have hanging installations of flowers and naked bulbs for our reception. On the tables we had a classic look with white candles, white tablecloths, bone colour linen napkins, rattan underplates and wooden crossback chairs. The backsplash for our bridal table were a custom neon sign with our initials. Xenia from Kweek studios assisted me with making this vision come to life even better than imaged. We were truly blown away by how our decor and flowers turned out on the day.

My handsome groom had a custom black suit made by the Tux Tailor. The Groomsmen wore similar pants and shirts that was hired for them.

Going against tradition my 3 beautiful bridesmaids wore black. I wanted my bridesmaids to feel very comfortable on the day and thus decided that they could choose their own dresses which they felt were best suited for them. I also decided on the black dresses as every girl needs that little black dress in their cupboard which made me feel confident that they will be able to wear their dresses again for another occasion.

All planning leading up to the wedding were done by myself. On the day wedding coordination was provided by our venue.
We did not have to travel to the venue as we had accommodation on site at the venue. We however had my dad's cute red VW beetle as our wedding car for photos.
Our delicious food was prepared by the chefs of Red Pepper Catering. We had canapés going around for all our guest during the extended pre-drinks on the lawn. Once all the guests entered our reception we served a plated main followed by a table full of mini desserts. Our lovey vanilla 2-tier wedding cake was made by Hettie from Sophia's Cakery which was also served together with all the other desserts. We saved one tier of the wedding cake for our first wedding anniversary.

I met Anke from Lunch Time Studio via instagram and designed all our stationary virtually with her. Lunch Time Studio printed and posted the stationary to Cape Town as they are based in Pretoria. Together Anke and I designed our welcome board, paddle fans for the ceremony (with lyrics of the praise and worship as well as order of events), seating chart and table numbers with the food menu.

Our choreographer for our first dance was the talented Roxanne from DanceCraft Studio whom beautifully assisted us to dance on Elvis's Can't help falling in love. Our DJ used for our wedding was Dirk from Baha Entertainment.
