The highlight of my wedding day was when I walked down the isle and saw my future husband looking so handsome.
Another great moment was when we did our first dance. We practiced the dance, but nothing could prepare us for the size of my dress. Luckily nobody saw me stepping on my own dress.Our dance was amazing and I felt like a princess with all the fairy lights and the smoke machine , we danced on Perfect from Ed Sheeran we got so many compliments after our first dance. Another special moment was the fact that all our special family and friends was with us to share our special day.
This was the most memorable and special day in our lives ❤️
We were given two gifts for honeymoon.
The one was for the Kynsna River lodge for 3 nights and the other gift was by The Teniqua Treetops for 2 nights.
We really enjoyed the lodge here in knysna.
We did lots of adventures including Blackwater tubing and ziplines. We enjoyed to braai at the end of the day while we stayed here.
The Knysna River Lodge had great facilities that we used, like a swimming pool, jacuzzi ,mini golf and renting bicycles to enjoy the views of the river.
We then taveled to the Teniqus Treetops.Here we enjoyed the solitude and the surrounding nature. The Treetop accommodation were perfect with breathtaking views, a big romantic bath and outside deck to enjoy our meals. We were so surprised to get the cutest towl swans and rose petals and even champagne with glasses on our arrival. What a perfect two nights this was.
We then taveled to Oudshoorn where we stayed by Old Mill Accommodation for two nights.We really enjoyed the swimming pools there and the canoes right by our cabin.This town is well known for its ostriches so we obviously enjoyed some ostriche filets and burgers patties on our stay. We also did a few surrounding attractions such as enjoying the Cango Wildlife Range where we saw lots of wildlife and we even got to do an encounter with the cutest Lemurs ever. We did not forget to visit the Cango caves where we did the adventure tour together. Wow what a great experience.
We then traveled to our next location in George the Buff and Fellow. This is definitely a top honeymoon destination. We stayed in a eco cabin for two nights. This beautiful place has two of the big five animals.We went on the safari game drive and saw Buffaloes and rhinos.We also got to enjoy the canoes on the dam and mostly the firewood jacuzzi with its spectacular view.
Buff and fellow has free-range chicken coops where you can get your daily eggs, this was so nice and gave a farm feel to the stay.We also ordered Buffaloe burgers that you make yourself for dinner,my husband really enjoyed this.The most memorable time here was under the stars in the jacuzzi with the firepit burning in the background while the rhinos and bucks played in front off us.This truly felt like a scene out of a romance movie.We were sad to leave our location and that our honeymoon came to its end.What a perfect honeymoon getaway with my Husband.
My look was like something out of a fairytale scene with a hint of boho and some vintage here and there. A friend of one of the venue's employees who is a hairdresser helped me to style my hair. I also bought some nice butterfly hair clips on shein to use for my wedding day. My dress was hired by Wedding by design and the seamstress and owner Nicky was very helpful and friendly. To me it was a princess style dress and I surely felt like one that day. My make up was done by Labut Emporium, who did an amazing job and Elmarie was very professional.I was very pleased with the look.
I got a nice necklace from my mom as a wedding gift that morning and a beautiful bracelet from my husband to wear on my wedding day. I also bought my wedding shoes on shein and was happy with the look.I am so grateful to everyone who helped and made me look amazing for my special day.
We got married by Matroosberge Nature reserve, Ceres.This was truly the most beautiful venue I have seen throughout all the venues i visited. It has spectacular mountain views ,a few rivers and lakes and a beautiful forest full of pine trees. The staff ,employees and owners truly give more that any other venue and are supper friendly.If you are looking for that fairytale forest wedding vibes this will be the perfect location and best affordable pricing. All the guests did stay the night as there was plenty accommodation at the venue. This was truly a perfect location.
The only thing I did do was my nails and lashes. The nails was done by Skintreat wellness clinc centre in Laguna Mall and the lashes was done by at Beauty spot in Langebaan.My nails looked pretty with ombre tips and a bit of glitter.My lashes was done very good as it lasted the entire time and during the honeymoon.I was very happy to be so lucky to get this done.
My flowers was all hand made paper flowers and was created by Maria in Saldana,who did a fantastic job. My other flowers was just wild grasses we picked before hand for the special day. The decor was provided by the venue as well as a helping hand including me and my mom.We also made our own decor to save some money. We rented our cutlery and table underplates by Bedazzled to set up our tables nicely. It truly turned out amazing.
We rented the suit for the groom by Suit Hire in Cape Town. The groomsmen jackets was also hired and we made the ties by a local seamstress. The rest of the outfits the groomsman brought themselves. The all looked good and my husband looked so handsome. I couldn't keep my eyes off him.
The braidsmaids wore emerald green dresses that was made by a friend seamstress locally.I gave them each a paper flower crowns to wear and a beautiful flower bouquets.I also bought them some nice necklaces on Shein beforehand to wear. They all looked so pretty and really fitted in with the wedding colors.
Our marriage officer was Didi De Kock. She is the owner of the venue and really did an excellent job to marry us under the pine trees in the forest. She made us feel comfortable and did everything professionaly. We are so grateful for her.The ceremony was perfect and made us, and even the guests cry from happiness. What a special moment.
We only had a Photographer. Elani Van Wyk and her friend Liesl who assisted her throughout the evening.We have known Elani for a while now and have never been disappointed. Her photos are amazing and she really has an eye for it. No we did not have a planner for the big day.
I was the planner with help from my mom and we did an amazing job if I have to say. We started planning the wedding months ahead and had a big file with everything in. I loved planning my own wedding and it saved us a lot of money.
We drove to the venue with our work vehicle and we were lucky enough to also drive with the vehicle during our honeymoon .
The venue took care of the food which was a spitbraai with rice potatoes and sweet pumpkin with salad on the side.All the guests couldn't stop talking about the delicious food that night and we also enjoyed it ourselves.They also made us a sweet chocolate wedding cake with white frosting. It was delicious and also it was finished the next morning when we wanted to get some more for takeaway.Thanks to Matroosberge Nature reserve and their chefs for making great food for the wedding.
My mom helped with everything that needed to be printed. We also used the services of Copy Net in the Weskus mall. I am very creative and enjoy to make things, so we handmade most of the stationery ourselves.I also handmade our wedding invitations myself and everyone loved it. Here we also saved a lot of money. Everything we made looked so professional and me and my mom are proud of all our hard work to make my wedding a dream come true.
The reception was done by the venue staff. I also got help from my husband to make paper birds on a string to hang between the trees as decor for our reception.It truly looked amazing and gave fairytale vibes to the reception.We took a few dance lessons by the Swiftly Dance Company. She made us very comfortable with the dance and it helped a lot. We are so greatfull for her help and happy to be blessed with these classes. All the guests said that we looked amazing on the dance floor together.
The sound and lighting was done by the venue. Our DJ was Maritza and she also did her job well. The dance floor was constantly full of happy guests with funky dance moves. We had a great time and a memorable wedding night.
