Fun, fun, fun! Our day started with champagne, snacks and lots of laughter. It was not stressful at all.
For me the most memorable moment of my wedding day was walking down the isle towards my best friend and watch the tears roll down my husband to be's face. I knew then that I was about to marry my soul mate!
However, I believe that every wedding has a funny story…something that just does not go according to plan. For us it was the moment I fainted just minutes before we said “I Do”! The heat in the chapel and the nerves was just too much for me to handle at that moment. Nonetheless, our day was still perfect! I got back up, took a bow and shouted “I DO”!
The ceremony was fun and joyful which was perfect as my husband and I are both fun and joyful people.
We are so blessed to have gone on a magical honeymoon.
For our honeymoon we went to a luxury game reserve called Kapama Karula. It was absolutely breathtaking and we were so lucky to see every single animal of the big 5 within 30m from us.
What an amazing experience!
The theme for our beautiful wedding day was spring and elegance, as we got married on 3 September 2021, which is the start of Spring and to us it represents the start of something new.
Our special day was at Lace on Timber in Pretoria, which opened up for weddings about 5 years ago, and since then we both knew that this would be our venue. A beautiful, modern, industrial venue with a stunning glass chapel.
The chapel is set in between rose bushes and beautiful, tall, green trees.
For jewellery, hair and makeup I decided to stay true to myself and go with natural colours and styles.

Makeup: Ubella
I am tall (1.78m) and therefore decided to wear shoes with small, gold block heels which matched perfectly with the gold lace on my dress and my gold Swarovski earrings.

Almost all our guests stayed over due to lockdown restrictions.
Our guests stayed at the beautiful Lace on Timber, Hello Timber and Ambers and Grace Farm Guesthouse.
Like all brides, I was very stressed in the months and weeks leading up to the wedding. Therefore, I made sure I went for a facial monthly (for 6 months) leading up to our big day.
I also went to see a dietician who helped me with a meal plan and workout program which helped me stay in shape and made sure I did not stress-eat too much!
I went to gym 4 days a week and made sure I did a 30min walk 3 times a week.
I felt at my best walking down the isle to my best friend.
The theme for our beautiful wedding day was modern and industrial with spring colours. Our colour scheme for the flowers, decor and stationary was blush, white and green.
Flowers: Pebble and Lace

My handsome groom wore a navy suit with a brown undercoat, brown shoes and a floral tie.
The groomsmen wore navy suit pants, white shirts, suspenders and brown shoes with a bow tie. All suits were hired from Black Tie.
The men wore navy and pink striped socks.
What a dapper group of men! They all looked their best :)
As my bridesmaids I had my sister, my best friend and my sister-in-law.
My beautiful bridesmaids looked so gorgeous in long blush dresses with nude block heels and a diamanté belts. The dresses were made by Gelique Couture.
They were amazing and so willing to help bring my vision to life!
At Gelique we believe that your bridesmaids should look stunning and feel gorgeous on your big day!
Pastor Tony Karam was our marriage officer which was very special as he was also the marriage officer at my husband's brother's wedding.
I had the best team working with us on our big day! RdK Photography was our photographer. I could not have asked for anyone better to capture our day. Renske de Klerk is AMAZING and so much fun to work with! I would recommend her to everyone!
First Kiss Videography did the videography for our wedding and they were great! They worked very well together with the photographer and made sure every single moment was captured.
We did not use a photo booth, but did have a polaroid camera for our guestbook which was loads of fun.

I did not have a wedding planner as enjoyed planning our wedding and bringing our dream wedding day to life. However, my wedding co-ordinator from Lace on Timber, Lushano Britz, was the most incredible woman. We would not have been able to have our dream day as perfect as it was without her.
We were lucky to have had the bridal suite close to the chapel and therefore did not need any transport.
The food was prepared in house by the venue, Lace on Timber, and was one of the highlights for all our guests. Some of the best food I have ever had.
When it comes to our wedding cake...I AM SPEECHLESS! Our wedding cake was the best carrot cake anyone has every had and was even preferred over most of the desserts. What a winner.

I designed the wedding invitations on Paperless Post which is so easy to use and they have hundreds of templates to choose from.
Wedding Wonders designed and printed the stationary for our wedding. They were great to work with and made all my dreams and wishes come true! Everything was PERFECT!
Our wedding was set around our most important elements being fun, elegant and classy. We wanted our wedding to be different, to be fun and to be a wedding our guests would remember.
All I can say is...MONKEYS WEDDING! They were the live band who played background music during the canapés. The mood they created was lively and so much fun! Since our wedding, a few of our guests have booked them for private events, birthdays and weddings.
I am a terrible dancer and was adamant on going for dancing lessons. We had our dancing lessons at Love for Dance in Pretoria and enjoyed it so much that we decided to continue with dancing lessons even after the wedding. It was so much fun and both our first dance and father-daughter dance was so beautiful and so perfect!
Our sound and lighting was done by Mountain Beats who created the best atmosphere all day! The lighting went so well with our theme and the sound and songs were perfect! I could not have asked for better!
