We had a wedding weekend which was just the best decision. Being able to spend time with friends and family that we hardly get to see was for both us extremely special and memorable. And everyone cried.. A LOT! Lol
When I walked the aisle between me, my husband and our guests there were no dry eyes. So emotional and special
We went on a lovely honeymoon to Hluhluwe River Lodge on KZN North Coast. We relaxed and did some fun activities and did quite a bit of exploring of Hluhluwe and the surrounding areas
I wanted a really elegant look and I think at the end we all got it pull off :)
My hair was done by Lieze from Burgersfort that did curls and then pinned everything up into a stunning "low" updo style.
Christine from Kiss n Makeup did airbrush makeup for myself and my ladies...subtle and elegant. Golden eyeshadow, natural lashes with mascara and some light burgundy lip colour
My dress was the best! I got it from Bride and Co Boksburg. Fitted to my hips then had a subtle flare. It was nude colour with a beautiful lace back feature and lace and beadwork covering the whole dress. I loved it, it suited me to a T and I wore it the whole night.
My shoes I got from Truworths... They had a low heel and were a dusty rose gold colour
I couldn't wear a bra/bust piece with my dress but wore sexy white cotton panties from Bras 'n Things
My jewellery was mixed and matched. I work a diamante bracelet from Chickitas, a necklace gifted to by my hubby from NWJ, my earrings were hanging diamanté as well from Lovisa and my hairpiece came from Lovisa too.
We got married at Lapeng Guest Lodge just outside Burgersfort in Limpopo.
It was a wedding weekend so our guests stayed both Friday and Saturday night by Lapeng with the wedding having been in the Saturday.
I like to keep things simple so I went to my regular hairdresser for foils every 3 or so months so that my colour was right by the time I got married
I honestly didn't exercise much, I didn't have the time. It was one of those "wow you've lost weight how do you do it.. Thanks it's the stress" moments lol
I found a good nail lady and started with her a couple months before the wedding, I was very happy and I went for waxing and an eyelash tint by Sorbet and sunbed by The Pamper Hub in Benoni. That was it really...
Our theme/colours were navy blue and rose gold so we brought most of the colour in with our own decor but used the venues fixed features
Wooden tables & chairs, overhead edison lights, wooden placemats were provided by Lapeng as well as a metal backdrop with candles for our main table
Our flowers and bouquets were done by Maliflora (Lydenburg).. We had 2 big arrangements at the front of the Chapel. Then eucalyptus and gip bundles in white sheer loop material over the Chapel pew ends and tied into the navy material chair backs I had brought for the reception chairs.
My mom made hessian runners with navy lace trim for the reception tables and our main table had a navy glitter tulle draped over it with a flower runner over that and hanging fairy lights at the front. Flowers were roses, gip, eucalyptus and stargazer lilies.
My guest tables had a wooden lantern and candle centrepiece with a eucalyptus and gip wreath around it and then small candles on either side with the greenery snaking around it. They came out perfectly
Overhead the reception tables were hanging edison bulbs and eucalyptus canopy
My hubby wore a navy blue suit bought from Khaliques at Oriental Plaza. We also got all the groomsmens shirts and rose gold ties there as well as cuff links
The groomsmen wore grey pants and navy waistcoats from Eurosuit over the white shirts
All the men wore black dress shoes
Our marriage officer was Marthinus Jakobus Marais
We used the venues in-house photographer Blurred Lines (Werner) and his partner
They captured all the special moments through the weekend and on our wedding day
Not really
The venue manager Werner did assist where we needed him but we basically set our schedule and how we wanted it to run
We just asked him some advice on timing for photography etc
We were at the venue so didn't require anything.
I got ready at the farm across the road so my dad fetched me in our vehicle and the bridal party came across in a game viewer
Myself and my sister in law did the designs and I had them printed by Inksurance in Benoni
Hubby and I did take dance lessons with Werner (another one lol) from Dynamic Dance Studio. He was so great and we loved our dance
We used the venues in-house DJ and they took care of all the sound, lighting and playlists
I just had to fill out a basic document about what kind of music we wanted and when certain songs must play. I was very happy things ran like a dream
