Firstly, what a wonderful way to start your fifties!! I eventually met my soulmate after being single for 30 years.
He is such a sweetheart and love of my life. We just loved each other from the first day we met. He has also been ingle for many years and we were not even looking for love. It just happened and God gave each other a special gift.
We shared our beautiful day at Chez Charlene in Pretoria on 4 September 2021 with 40 guests. Guests, friends and family told us afterwards that it was the most beautiful wedding and ceremony they have ever attended. I could see they really meant it as the venue, the chapel the food, celebrations afterwards all spoke for itself. Myself and Chris were so happy and they told me that I had a fairy tale wedding and I looked like Cinderella :-)
I was so grateful to have the team at Chez Charlene put everything together for us from the venue, tables, decor, flowers, stationery, food and a sound engineer, - all inclusive.
I am grateful for what God has given me and want to share my beautiful day and story with all.
Never stop believing, - it never too late to find the love of your life! :-)
No, -we have not yet gone on honeymoon as it has been a very difficult year with lockdown to travel anywhere outside the borders so we will do so in the near future and make some more beautiful memories.
My hair was done by Jacques from Skin.Phd Zambezi, Pretoria and my make-up by Jeanine. They really helped me to feel like a real princess, a real life Cinderella going to the biggest event of my life.
My smokey eye make-up and hair lasted the entire day and throughout the evening. I didnt even have to do any touch-ups on anything. They really did an amazing job. Thanks to SkinPhd, Zambezi, Theresa and team.
We got married on a beautiful 5 star venue just outside Pretoira called Chez Charlene with 40 close friends and some family as guests. Unfortunately due to the strict lockdown rules at the time we couldn't have a late night party into the early hours of the morning but we surely made the best of every single hour we spend with each other and our wonderful guests. Each and every person told us what a wonderful time they had. All the guests interacted with each other like they knew each other for many years. They were dancing, laughing, eating and enjoying the evening like it was the last night on earth! We had to eventually ask people to leave the venue as they were having such a ball. You could see everyone needed a celebration and a party such joyful as this in the dark times were are living in.
They couldn't stop talking about the venue, how beautiful myself and my husband looked and the flowers, tables, decor, food - that all was absolutely so perfect! Thanks to Charlene and Deone from Chez Charlene that helped me and Chris make our dream day come true. They have put so much effort into organising everything exactly like i dreamed it could be. Just perfect!! The pictures will tell how beautiful this farm is where they grow orchids, have horses and with the most amazing view. Thank you to all of you at Chez Charlene!
Chez Charlene boasts the grandeur of its flawless architecture coupled with picturesque gardens and lavish fields where horses graze and gallop, all the ingredients to create l...
We didn't have any of the beauty regimes... we were just ourselves and so in love, just like the first day we met.
All of the above were arranged by Chez Charlene Venue as well as the sound engineer Steven who helped us with playing all our favourite music and songs and everything was exactly as we have requested for it to be.
Some men pink shirts, other white with black ties and suits. As you would see in the photos it turned out to blend into the decor which was all white, pink, rosegold and green.
I didn't have any bridesmaids but my sister-in-law helped me get dressed and made sure everything looked perfect while I wasn't looking :-) Anneline Niemand you were amazing and I love you dearly, and I am so glad you could be part of this memorable day. Anneline wore a beautiful blush pink outfit that was specially made for her.
Thinus Pretoria and Retha are very good friends of ours. Thinus was our Pastor and conducted the ceremony with a lot of emotion and true words as he and Chris have come a long way with many years of friendship.
My brother Gerrie Niemand and his son Rynhard took over 2300 photos and didnt miss a moment. He didnt do a lot of ediitng as all the photos were so perfect, natural and as people interacted he took photos. It was natural and everyone felt so comfortable with each other although most were strangers to one another but Gerrie have a way of moving between the guests and captured the most beautiful moments. It was quite difficult to pick the best pics for my gallery.
He truely has a gift of taking picture and "Capturing Moments".
Thank you brother and Rynhard for being there on the most beautiful day of my life! I love you both dearly.
Deone and Charlene from Chez Charlene took care of everything! From the venue, flowers, decor, candles, stationery, food, snacks and a sound engineer.
We got married in a small chapel on the venue. I got dressed in the bride & groom suite behind and Chris in another suite so we just walked around to the chapel from there. We therefore didnt need transport to the chapel.
The food was prepared by Charlene of Chez Charlene. We had as a started filled spinash and beef, main course lamb shank with potatoes and heart shaped pumpkin and for dessert we had flamng Creme Brulee.
The wedding cake was made by Anneline Niemand who flew it up from Cape Town and did final touches at the venue.
Dorette did our invitations and Chez Charlene organised all our stationery for us.
Steven was referred to us by Chez Charlene who was the sound engineer. Lindy Lee was our live performer for the evening. She is a local south african afrikaans lady with a passion for jazz music and has a voice of an angel. Thank to Lyndi!
