We met 13 years ago at high school and we loved sinced then. He magically asked me to wed him two days before Christmas day in 2020 after I came from work with a beautiful set-up in my apartment.
We had thee most beautiful day! Clichè right? That was just how I can explain the 28th of August 2021.
I had the most amazing team to get me ready. We had the opportunity to share this day with the dearest and nearest, that was the most memorable day of our wedding day.
My highlight of the day was when we entered the reception and I had my second dress on, 'Beyonce _ Love on Top' at the background, guests screaming and clapping, THAT'S WHEN I KNEW THIS IS OUR DAY ENTERING TOGETHER AS ONE FOREVER.
We went on honeymoon only after one month of marriage, work.
He took me on a suprise excursion. Driving at night and I kept on asking where? how far?. We then drove past Stilbay exit that's when I knew KNYSNA!! I love this city. Lovely cabin on the seafront.
Mother nature however gave us lot's of showers of blessings that weekend, could not do much, but the time spent together was great.
I am obsessed with lace detail and long sleeves, ever since matric dance. I wore a lace covered long sleeve dress, piece by piece attached to the fabric for the ceremony and a white veil. Reception dress, I had a one-piece glitter top with puff arms and low open back with chain hanging down and plain white flowy bottom with cathedral style. All done by Ke'lab Designs
Gorgeous white sandal heels on the last weekend of winter, bought at Aldo with glitter details on the strap.
Lingerie was easy, cup attached to the dress, best ever fit.
Minimal jewelry as I am quite not a jewelry person. I wore teardrop style, diamond earrings from Lovisa ( Cape gate)
My hair and make-up I can talk about this all day long. Carlynn Andrews Professional make-up artist did my hair and make-up. Very professional, understanding human being and so comforting.
We went with a natural look on make-up with eyelash application and soft chocolate lips. I had soft beachy curls in a low-bun and for the ceremony I took out all pins and let loose with my curls as I went for a comfortable look.
We got married at Domaine Brahms, Windmeul, Paarl.
My guest did not stay over because the place do not offer accomodation. Few of our guest stayed over in Paarl at a B&B.
Husband and i stayed over at Under Oaks Guesthouse, also in Paarl.
I tried to concentrate more on my skin then healthy eating, but the two goes hand in hand. I did a turmeric mask three times a week started 2 months before the wedding and with fitness I only did a few jogs three times per week.
My make-up artist spoiled me with a spa treatment three months before the wedding day.
Minimal decor. We had a church on the premises and we only did lots of flowers all kind (burgundy, blush, white, green) We did the same for the reception. Our theme was simple, but our focus was on travelling.
Our wedding invitation was in a passport form. Our table seating had the world map and guest each had a continent where they were seated.
We rented long candle holders filled with candle gel.
The groom and groomsmen wore grey suits dressed with white shirts, bought at Woolworths_Tygervalley. The groom had a undercoat with a burgundy tie and the groomsmen only burgundy ties. Custom-made by my dressmakers (Ke'Lab Designs).
They had their personalised socks from Studio on 2.
Groom had a brown shoe with front piece black, which we bought two years before the wedding on Zando, beacuse he loved the shoes, but never got to wear it before and we decided this will be your something old.
My two bridesmaid both wore a burgundy dress with lace cover-up for the top. One bridesmaid had both long lace sleeves and one an asymmetrical dress, with both a slit on the left leg till thigh level, all custom-made by Ke'lab designs. Accompanied by gold shoes. We loved (I loved) pinterest and that is where we decided on a look.
Our marriage officer was our reverend at church, Father Christopher Swarts. St Stephens Church, Paarl.
We so badly wanted a photo booth, but in the end decided against it and also for the videographer, but we had the most funny photographer and assistant (his wife).
Aldo Meyer Photography and Photo booth was our capturer of our special day. We had the engagement pictures also taken by him at the Franschoek pass close to Theewaterskloof dam.
He made us both feel comfortable and we could laugh and enjoy each and every moment caught on camera.
No, I did everything by myself, the planning, making list, phonecalls, meeting people. I would not exchange such an opportunity for anything, I had most fun by planning my own special day. Carlon Norman wedding planner :)
We were very clever and used our own personal cars. We got dressed two kilometers from the venue where we had the church and the reception. We only asked family members to drive our cars.
My wedding cake was made op three tiers: Bottom- carrot moist cake with roasted walnuts and mascarpone creamcheese filling. Middle - russian honey cake. (my first time I had this and this is the only cake I buy nowadays. Top - red velvet. All three covered in swiss meringue butter cream, with a few fresh flowers. Alena Crafford cakemaker- Wellington.
Our food was prepared by the venue and drinks. Domaine Brahms
Our stationery which was the invitation was done by Stuck on You (Brackenfell). They also provided the wedding gifts for guest, We gave each family a plant in a pot with the saying 'Let love Grow'.
Our table seating was done by Minutemaid Press in Worcester.
Everything designed by myself and then Fiancè.
I so badly wanted dance lessons, but husband was not into that idea. We ended up swinging across the dance floor and him singing to me while dancing to our wedding song by Ronan Keating - When you say nothing at all.
We had a DJ and it was a close friend of one of my husbands colleagues. He did everything for us.
