We were running late on the day and I got very emotional before even started to walk down the isle, but as soon as I laid my eyes on him,
I couldn't get to him fast enough. It was even more special when I saw him all emotional as he is not someone to get emotional easily. Other moments was our first dance and fake send off (even though he dropped me in the wheel barrow).
No, unfortunately we couldn't afford it. However, we might go to Cape Town for a small get away in December
I wanted to have a simple yet elegant look for my wedding. That is why I chose to go for a dirty pink and rose gold colour colour with that of the natural surroundings (greenery from forest). I also had a lot of fairy lights and candles in the venue itself. Everything from the natural elegant look of the wedding itself, to the table numbers and the send off in a wheelbarrow was to represent who we are as a couple - down to earth yet unique in our own way.
From day one I told my amazing bride tribe that I want us to enjoy every moment, which is why they were allowed to choose their own jewelry, shoes, make-up and hairstyles (as long as it was down). As for myself, I wanted (just like my wedding look) a simple and elegant wedding dress and hairstyle. My jewelry was nothing fancy, just as representation of me as a person - plain jane.

Haycroft Farm Country Wedding Venue.
Some guests stayed the night at the venue itself.
I did not do too much bridal beauty regime as I am a first year teacher, so not only was I really busy but I could not financially afford it. However, my husband bought a facial treatment voucher for me, earlier the year for my birthday. Furthermore, I also tried to eat healthier and go to the gym twice a week.
All furniture, lighting as well as most of the decor such as the fairy lights, candles and table runners was included in my package from Haycroft and Hamblins catering. However, alternative decor such as the table numbers, seating plan, menu and invitations was made by me.
I was blessed to have my mom do all of the flower arrangements that was needed for the wedding. I must admit, at first I was very nervous as she struggled to do the flower arrangements exactly like I wanted, but in the end it looked beautiful
The groom and groomsmen bought their king navy blue suits at Shadows in Gateway.
The groom's ring is an American dollar coin, which was bought at Shongweni Market. I saved up to buy him a Tag Heuer watch he wanted for quite a while.
I wanted something elegant, but that could be worn again. Therefore I went with a long, flowy, open back dress in a dirty blush pink colour which was also made by Renalda from Elre Attire designs.
Due to unplanned circumstances, we had to change our marriage officer last minute. However, I am actually glad that we did as Karin Hattingh was truly amazing. Her message was close to home and we had lots of laughter during the ceremony which also helped to relieve some pressure. I could not have imagined it turning out any better than it had.
Our photographer was an old friend, Pieter Botha. He managed to capture some beautiful moments, but as we only had limited time due to covid restrictions and curvue, we have decided to take more photos as well as individual photos (myself in the dress and husband in his suite) on our first year anniversary. Therefore, as a one year anniversary celebration, we decided to ask a close and amazing friend, Zoewie Lee Wilson (who is also a very talented photographer) to retake some picture at the venue net year.
No, since I have a degree in event management, I planned and arranged everything myself.
We got ready at the venue so my father just drove us down from the bridal barn to the forest for the ceremony.
We used Hamblins catering company for all the food throughout the event and all their dishes from the pastries and sandwiches to the roast beef in red wine sauce and parmasan chicken with white wine sauce ending the evening with a malva pudding desert, was truly out of the world. My only regret was that I didn't take some food home.
My sister made my gorgeous and delicious vanilla cake since she is a qualified chef.
I designed all my newspapers (programs), confetti cones, seating arrangements, menus, table numbers colouring books and other stationery as well as print them at home.
My mom and I set everything up from the tiny candle on the tables to my hexagonal stand (made by my talented husband) behind the main table.
DJ worx did all of our music and lighting. Allan from DJ worx was so organized and constantly reassured me that everything will be sorted and it was. Yes, we did take dance lessons for the first dance at Ben's dance studio. I loved the dance routine, however, I wish that I spoke up to make it simple as we finished it on record time leaving the guest a bit confused as to why the music was still playing.
