Our Canapes told the story of all our travels together. We had different stations pairing drinks and food to make our guests experience parts of our journey.

My dress was classic and elegant with lots of lace.
I opted for a romantic hair and makeup look done by @ceciliafouriemh
Shoes: I love dancing so I had ballroom shoes made with ivory silk to match my dress.
Jewelry: I am a less is more kind of person. I wore my engagement ring and new diamond earrings as a gift from my husband for the wedding day.
I strongly believe each and every person should look natural, yet radiantly beautiful, this is accomplished by enhancing each client s natural features.
We had a destination wedding in McGregor. Our Family and friends from all over South Africa stayed in McGregor for the weekend.
Our ceremony and reception was at Lord's Wine
I love to run and do light weight training. I kept to this fitness regime and felt good on my wedding day.
The morning of the wedding we had a 5 km "wedding run" and coffee ride for the guys. It was great starting the day with my normal Saturday routine going for a run with some of our wedding guests.
I went for a full body scrub and massage the Wednesday before the wedding as gift to myself.
Our Canapes was an event on its own as we wanted it to be an experience for our guests. All decor and photo wall was done by Bianca from eventarchitect.
Our Ceremony and Reception decor was done by Amanda from Kadou. She did a splendid job. Wedding colors was dusty blue and ivory with a touch of Burgundy.
To make all vendors know what was expected and when to arrive etc was handled by our amazing wedding coordinator Elizma Freeman from Infinite Concepts Group.
Lloyd is a metro man and was dressed in a black Hugo Boss suit, Tiger of Sweden waistcoat with bow tie from Zed menswear.
I bought Lloyd a Titanium ring from Titanium Studio a few years ago and he did not want another wedding ring. I got him a 1947 Omega pocket watch converted to wrist watch by Hout Bay watch company instead.
I had no Bridesmaids
Ds. Christo Du Plessis from the Dutch Reformed Church in Dinwiddie Germiston where I grew up lead the service. Our family has been part of his congregation for more than 20 years. He has seen me grow up and it was special to have him marry us.
Kobus Tollig was our photographer. We had to move our wedding date twice due to Covid and we moved the date to Kobus's availability as we did not want to have anyone else capture our day. He made us feel very comfortable and was very professional.
We had a caricature to keep the guests busy during Canapes and first hour of reception. Theodore was such a gentle giant. So patient and people were queuing. Best decision we made.
Elizma Freeman from Infinite Concepts Group was amazing and I was so glad I decided to get a wedding coordinator.
I planned most of the wedding myself but we had bad luck as at the end of 2020 one supplier liquidated and we lost our deposit for flowers and decor. The 2nd supplier had to close due to covid but luckily we got our deposit back. I did not have the courage to go through finding another supplier and working through numerous quotes etc. Elizma was very supportive and made my task easier. Our wedding day would not have been as amazing and well orchestrated without Elizma.
Lloyd got a 1972 MG for our anniversary three months before our wedding. This car made special photos and was fun driving up the gravel roads to our photo spots.
Zest Catering did a splendid job with both canapes, starters and mains. Starters and mains was paired with wine from Lord's Wine. We had a special tasting with Jen a few months prior t the wedding where we tasted different dishes and decided on what works best with our canapes, starters and mains.
Kanya Hunt made an extraordinary three tiered cake. Each layer was a different flavor. I have never seen wedding guests eat that much cake.

Event Architect did all designs and printing.
We had a Memory board with all photos and 2 boards telling our story referring to specific photos.
For all four canape stations we had the drink and food listed with a short story on why we selected that drink or what it reminded it us of.
We had a seating plan and Menu with guest name for every guest.
Our Reception was elegant and romantic, the main table was surrounded by candles and all our guests were having a great time. We did not have a lot of speeches only my brother and Lloyd.
DJ Gerhard kept us dancing for 2 hours. We would have gone another 2 if it was not for curfew.
Lloyd has 2 left feet but knows how much I love dancing. We had 5 dance lessons from John Hamman for our first dance. It was great.
