Our wedding consisted of many highlights, our 1st dance between our guests holding “sparkles”, the dramatic arrival with a white Volla at the church, the food, our wonderful guests, the beautiful dress Lientjie could wear, Riaan's incredibly beautiful speech, the wonderful way everyone involved in the wedding treated us and made our day special, the Dad and daughter dancing, the intimacy and silence of the forest church, our incredible wedding service by our Reverend, the ride with Lientjie's Dad to ths church for the last time as his unmarried daughter, the special time with Lientjie's Mom when she helped her put on her dress, but there is one highlight that certainly stands out.
For us the highlight of the wedding was the moment when Lientjie, hooked up with her Dad, walked into the church and Riaan stood in front of the church with tears in his eyes and we know today we are getting marrying the pwrson of our dreams and everyone is here for US! It was the most incredible feeling we have ever experienced and we could only say THANK YOU. It was definitely the highlight of the #ForAlwaysVenter Wedding.
Maldives!
We were fortunate enough to celebrate our honeymoon in the Maldives. It was an amazing experience and our 1st alone vacation together.
A little girl dreams about her wedding from an early age and once she has met the man of her dreams, she dreams even more about it. When I had to start thinking about a wedding day style, the word that came to my mind was timeless. The style should be such that one day I can look at the photos and not ask myself what have I done, but still like everything. The same was with my appearance.
Since I had been dreaming about my wedding day for so long, I had quite an idea of what I wanted my dress to look like. When I started looking for my dress I went to different wedding dress boutiques websites. I went to two places in one day and I got my dream dress at Timeless Bridal in Pretoria. Lace, mermaid style and not completely white so the lace could stand out nicely. I always wanted a very dramatic veil and that's exactly what I had. You only get married once!
I have always loved curly hair, natural makeup with a little darker at my eyes and since my husband is not much taller than I am I knew from the beginning I wanted to get married in flat shoes. I had wedding shoes made by Wedding Accessories by Tanya to match my dress and my jewelry I got everything as gifts. My pendant and earrings from my parents which was from Swarovski and my bracelet from Riaan, my husband which was specifically made. It made it so much more special.
The most important thing about my appearance was the way I was excited and happy on my wedding day. You can dress how beautiful and pay so much money, but if you are not satisfied and happy nothing is going to make you look beautiful. I was so happy, nothing got me down on the day and I couldn't help but walk around all day with a smile.

Our wedding was on 22 May 2021 at Mariendal Venue outside Kroonstad in the Free State. From the beginning, the theme of our wedding was elegant and DIFFERENT. We chose to get married on the farm in the Free State, because we did not want to get married at a venue where every wedding was more or less the same and you pay a farm price for it. It was our inspiration, we wanted to be different. We made most of the arrangements ourselves and almost everyone involved in the wedding were local people who have known Lientjie since she was a little girl. For us, it was important to focus on things that are precious to us and not the things that are normally included in a wedding venue's package. It included good food, good wine, good coffee, good music and a fairytale hall. We got married in an outdoor church where one could look out over the Free State plains. It was a wonderful day.
Our beautiful day was captured by Just Jordan Photography and Brush Wedding Films. It was such a great privilege to have them at our wedding and both of them carried us on their hands. In the end, that's all you have left and we can not look at our photos and our video enough.
Our wedding day was so special and beautifully made by County Flair Decor. Lucretia Slabbert was so much more than just the person doing the flowers. She has contributed so much to make our day perfect and different. She thought of all the little things and our hall looked like a fairy tale.
