One of the most unexpected highlights of my wedding, besides being able to pray with my hubby before our big promise to God without seeing him, was finding out that the guest house I was gettingbready at was my great grandfather's house. My grandmother sent me pictures of her outside that same house as a kid, afterwards. I got to get ready for my wedding where my grandmother got ready for school.
We were able to sneak away for a quick 3 days. My husband showed me his late grandfathers flat in Port Shepstone, where they used to go on family vacations. I felt officially part of the family.
We went for an all natural look. Olive/sage, black and silver being the main colors. All the decor my husband and I as well as my brides maids and family made by hand.I even made my own wedding cake.
