The most magical and precious moment was when I saw Kevin as I walked down the aisle. I was so worried and felt overwhelmed by how I would feel as my parents have passed on. I was worried I would be a bucket of nerves and if I would ball my eyes out especially since my brother walked me down the aisle. As soon as I layed my eyes on Kevin, All was Fine! That precious moment I hold dear.
I loved our intimate moments whilst taking pictures. I loved our first dance. I loved taking vows with my Husband and feeling what true love feels like.
The entire Wedding felt like Kevin and I were totally engrossed in our own "Love Bubble". I can honestly say that we both made the day All about Us. There was no moment left without eachother from the start of the ceremony to the end of the night.
With having a small Wedding, guests were able to get to know one another. Our dinner table was one long table which meant that everyone felt important♡
We went to the Beautiful Mountains in Underberg for our Honeymoon. We go there often and it's a Special, Soul fulfilling place for us. The mountains are my favorite places in the world. I could stare at their majestic and humbling beauty forever.
Being a small intimate wedding, I knew I wanted to be more comfortable and I loved the idea of the "Boho" look. I think if we had had a bigger Wedding, I may have opted for "more". I decided to keep things simple and to what I am about.
I had my dress made, as well as the lace top at "Luv n Lace". My head piece was also from "Luv n Lace". I found a beautiful Diamante piece from "Lovisa" to add onto my dress.
My shoes were ordered from "Superbalist"... they are beautiful sandals with diamantes. I am not a heels person and because we had a garden wedding, I wanted to be comfortable in sandals.
Hair and make up was done by "Painted Face".
We got married at Macnut Farm in Assagay KwaZulu-Natal. We both love nature... trees... and a lush green scenery. This was the first venue we looked at and we instantly fell in love with it's beautiful big trees, river, Chapel and the venue owners. What amazing and inspiring people Hannah & Paul Paine are!
Our experience of planning our Wedding at Macnut Farm was so very enjoyable and everything went to plan. There was no detail overlooked.
My regime didn't change too much. I run a lot and kept up the running throughout the planning of our Wedding. I did try my best to not be swayed by too many "treats" beforehand. I am not a "starve yourself" to look beautiful type. I believe everything in moderation but not starvation :)
Our lovely venue Owner Hannah did all of our flowers, decor, cake, food, table arrangements, basically Everything!! Hannah is an absolute Angel and perfectionist!
My husband and I made our Wooden centre pieces and we had a bit of an adventure scouting around for our wooden under plate discs. We found some wood on the side of the road and boy did I make my Husband work to get that wood in the car! We had so many giggles trying to carry heavy trunks of wood to the car.
We cut up the wood into discs and we sanded them down. We also had the wooden signs and our invitations made by "The Wedding Avenue".
We did put finishing touches on our wooden invites... ribbon and beads and we used "Handmade by Janine" for our invite envelopes.
My Husband & Groomsmen wore very simple attire. All were dressed in brown long pants with long sleeve white shirts with flowers in the pockets.
My Husband wore suspenders.
To this day it's a secret as to where they shopped! ;)
I chose one friend to be my "Lady of Honour"... With having a small 20 guest wedding and keeping things intimate, I asked my best friend of 27 Years to stand with me. I had her dress made at "Luv n Lace" and I gave her freedom of choice regarding her hair and make up. Her hair and make up was also done by "Painted Face".
Our marriage officer was AJ from "Dream Ceremonies".
Many years ago I went to a friend's Wedding and AJ was the marriage officer. He had us all in laughter! I always said " that's who I have to have as my marriage officer one day" !! So pleased that AJ was able to marry us.
It was quite overwhelming to choose which photographer to have capture our day. I had many suggestions and recommendations come my way.
My photographer found me and I loved her style from the get go. "Robyn Scholtz Photography" was absolutely brilliant at capturing our moments as Pictures and she put together a few videos for us. We were actually so blessed as she gave us much much more than we had paid for.
We love our wedding pictures and our videos so much. Robyn was so chilled and made us feel so comfortable to be us in our natural state of love.
Since our Wedding, I have been inspired as photography has been a huge passion and I had always wanted to get involved in photography. I went and purchased my camera and have just started my photography business.
Hannah of Macnut Farm helped my Husband and I plan our day. We basically told her what we wanted and she made it all come together so beautifully. We couldn't have asked for better. Hannah is just the best! Her bubbly personality and character and her Laugh!!!! So very special ! Hannah and her Husband Paul have a special place in our hearts♡
Our Venue was so close to home. We chose this on purpose as travelling is not what we wanted for ourselves or our guests. My husband and I stayed at Macnut Farm the night of our Wedding.
Hannah of Macnut Farm made the most yummy cake and she prepared all the wonderful food on our Harvest Table. We are so pleased that everyone enjoyed the food! We had such wonderful compliments about how delicious everything was!
"The Wedding Avenue" and both myself and my Husband designed our wooden Invites.
I am a very creative person... so I designed what we wanted and got all printed and made.
Janine from "Handmade by Janine" made our envelopes for the invites, as well as our confetti cones and our match box covers.
We did think about having a "rehearsed" dance. We started teaching ourselves but my gut instinct told me that we are two people who's love comes naturally. I knew that a "rehearsed" dance was not us.
We danced to a Bryan Adams song called "Everything I Do, I Do it for You" and it flowed naturally. It just felt right to let us be in the moment together... no rehearsed moves... just us flowing with the music.
I am a singer/song writer. Music is my passion. I wrote my Husband a song and played guitar and sung the song to him. I had a friend accompany me on his piano.
My friend also sang and was our DJ. It was lovely to have the best of both worlds, with having some live music and some really nice original songs too.
