Our original wedding date was the first weekend of lockdown in 2020 and we were pretty devastated when we realised we couldn't go ahead with it anytime in the foreseeable future. After having to postpone our wedding date twice, just being able to walk down the aisle surrounded by our nearest and dearest friends and family members (in the midst of a pandemic!) was the biggest blessing we could've asked for. Everything was absolutely perfect. The 3 years' stress of planning the wedding myself was so worth it!
Before the travel bans were instated, we had planned to go to Philippines for a month. Instead, we ventured up the Garden Route to Knysna and Plettenberg Bay for a short getaway after the wedding. When travel restrictions were lifted in August, we were able to go to Maldives and it was INCREDIBLE!
My "Stevie" dress is by an Australian brand called Made With Love Bridal. It is the perfect combination of bohemian, modern, and elegant. The lace detailing and deep v-neck made it unforgettable. I cried both times I tried it on! For the ceremony, I wore it with a detachable tulle skirt. I accessorised with floral earrings from Barethreads and plain white block heels from ASOS - they were so comfortable!
My lingerie and bridal robe is from Victoria's Secret.
Lee-Anne from Lee-Anne Van Zyl Make Up Artistry gave me a sultry bronze, shimmery make-up look.
Suzanne from Skoonlief Beauty styled my hair with loose waves and a dried floral hair clip made by Amanda from Kadou that I wore for the ceremony with my veil.
The moment I first saw images of Die Woud in Caledon, I knew that that was where I want to marry my husband one day. I was so set on it that we did not even view any other wedding venues. Luckily my fiancé loved it just as much as I did and we booked straight away. It truly was the fairytale wedding in the forest that I had always envisioned and wanted.
Our guests stayed at the Caledon Hotel and Casino and in various B&B's in the town.
Health & fitness: I tracked my calories on My Fitness Pal and tried to avoid eating out and alcohol as much as possible in the two months leading up to the wedding. I did home workouts and tried to do 8000 -10 000 steps a day.
Skin: I went for micro needling a few times before the wedding @ Rose Lounge in Somerset West, other than that I just stuck to my normal skin routine. I went for an organic spray tan at Skin & Body in Somerset West two days before the wedding to give me that perfect glow for the big day.
Spa Treatments: My threading, manicure and pedicure was done by the best - Elizabeth Joel Nail Artistry.
For our lush, bohemian wedding, Kadou created the most breathtaking floral arrangements I had ever seen - our flowers were mostly neutral shades with pops of terracotta and reds. I wanted ALL the pampas grass too, so I made sure to purchase some Allergex for my guests in advance which definitely came in handy! The glass greenhouse where we had our reception felt like a fairy-light tent thanks to Creative Nook - it was so magical and dreamy.

My bridesmaids all wore beautiful, flowey, bohemian style dresses I ordered from an American online shop, Tobi. The style and colour of the dress suited all of the girl's beautifully and complimented the look of the wedding perfectly. For their make up we went for a bronze shimmery look and their hair was styled with loose waves. Their bohemian bridesmaid look was finished off by the most exquisite flower crown made out of orchids.
