I mean, where can I start ? I think, just realising that the day finally arrived after two postponements was enough to bring everyone to tears. Some of my favourite moments were: Having a moment alone with my mom before everything started. She is my rock and the person I share everything with. Of course doing the dress reveal for my bridesmaids, walking down the isle with my father next to me and seeing my person waiting in front of the church was all just so special. Oh and also having our wedding day on my father and sister's birthday (thanks again). Our food was amazing and the dance floor wasn't empty once! I honestly think the whole day was just so effortlessly perfect and I wouldn't change one thing.
We had the best and most romantic honeymoon a girl can dream of! We decided early on that we are going local, as South Africa has so much to offer. That was about it when it came to planning on my side. Lohan planned the whole thing. And for someone who can't decide what he wants to eat for breakfast, he did a pretty good job. Our honeymoon was two weeks short, and for the first two days we went to Hermanus, to sleep and eat all you can eat pasta! After that we went for another two days to the beautiful Franschhoek to do some wine tasting and exploring. Then we went up north to a beautiful wild reserve named Welgevonden, we where there for six days, going on luxury game drives and eating three course meals three times a day (not complaining). We ended off our honeymoon with sushi, elephants and boat trips in Knysna. It was the best time anyone can ask for.
I would describe the overall "look" of the wedding as elegant and romantic.
My hair and makeup was done by the very talented Estelle Pretorius, she is one of the kindest people I know and made me feel like the prettiest bride ever. My dress was from Calegra and was designed by Jeannelle l'Amour bridal and I felt like a million bucks and compared every other dress to mine and that's when I knew, it was the one. Shoes where from Poetry stores and my hair accessories where from Jeanne and Co.

We got married in Wellington at Au D'Hex Estate. What a romantic setting, they have the most beautiful rose gardens and the venue is breathtaking as the lights reflects off the glass walls. We also stayed in the Manor house and I honestly didn't want to leave. Their service was amazing and they supported us throughout the postponements and all! Nothing was ever too much for them and they did everything with a smile.

I started with a fitness routine to get into shape and feel comfortable in my own skin. With that I also followed a healthy eating routine. I didn't want to change too much too quickly. I wanted to look as natural as possible. I did my nails at Sorbet and my hair at Show Hair salon in Welgemoed a week before the wedding and that's about it. I honestly just wanted to feel good in my own skin at the end of the day.
We just wanted a relaxing yet romantic setting. Baie goeters did just that with our flowers and decor. It was everything we wanted and more. Our colour scheme was blush pink and terracotta and it made such a beautiful picture. We had fairy lights hanging from ceiling to floor and the lights reflected in the glass walls and ceiling. We had two long tables and the dance floor at the end. Outside we had several pockets where people could enjoy themselves under massive trees and more fairy lights.

The groom wore a charcoal suit from Euro Suit and the groomsmen were kitted with some Woolworths suit pants. We got the ties from the JC Click online store and the rest was out of their own closets. I must admit, I didn't think my husband's friend could clean up that well but they did and looked very sharp!
This was probably the easiest thing about the wedding. We got our bridesmaids a beautiful pink lacey dress from Forever New (on sale). We also got their shoes on an amazing sale from Woolworths which was the exact terracotta colour we were looking for. Their makeup was also done by Estelle and her team, and together it made the perfect picture.
Our minister from our church, NG Stellenberg gemeente officiated our weddig.
Our videographers were Groot Dors Produksies and our photographer was Christene Le Roux. Both were exceptional in their job. They made all of us feel so at home and at ease, for a moment we actually forgot that we were being filmed. They felt like family and we were able to re-live the day to the fullest.
I actually created the stationary myself, with the help of my sister. I hand painted a portrait of each and every guest. This meant painting every night until half past two in the morning. This happening all week before my wedding (so no beauty sleep for me). But it was totally worth it to be able to send my guest a portrait of themselves that they could keep as a thank you for sharing the day with us.
The reception was so much fun. The dance floor was never empty and our guests are still talking about how much they enjoyed it! Our sound and lighting was done by Resound music angency and our DJ was DJ Charlie. If I say that he was amazing, it would be an understatement. I saw quite a few of our guests asking for his card for their upcoming events. It was just such an unbelievably fun night and the dance floor wasn't empty even for one second.
