The biggest highlight was being able to marry my best friend and to bring all our friends and family together within the pandemic to celebrate our special day.
I themed our wedding, Alice in Versailles. Alice in Wonderland, has symbolic meaning to my and Williams relationship. it symbolised how we have grown and compromised in our relationship to strengthen our love as she does when she has to fit through the small door. When the cat quotes that we are all crazy- william and I have always been appreciative of our unpredictable, quirky side and when we one day return back to reality, to take that part of ourselves with us. Having two long tables became our "mad hatter" table as we wanted to create unity amongst all our loved ones and allow all the different personalties of our family and friends travel amongst one another as they pass around the food as if they were joining our Sunday family lunch around the dinner table at home. The flowers surrounded the tables to create a secret garden rabbit hole because Williams biggest love, aside from me is Nature and the beauty he always finds in the small things. He finds his peace and energy through hikes and long rides on his bicycle or taking a scenic drive to stop and admire the beauty of every sunset. As for the Versailles twist to the theme, I am very passionate of Art and History. It has been my dream to visit Europe, especially Versailles, so as the army of David candles stood at attention throughout the centre of the tables amongst the mis-matched venetian plates, time stood still and it was as if we had traveled back in time.
Another highlight was the drive to the church with my dad, he never once let go my hand. When Aleit, our wedding planner at the the rehearsal explained to us that my father needs to stand on my left hand side as he walks me down the aisle, we were for a slight moment silent and unsure as to why? Aleit had explained that the symbolic meaning behind it is that my father is no longer my protector and unable to draw his sword with his right hand to protect me, but rather leading me down the aisle to William, who will from that day forth become my protector. My father does not always shed a tear easily, at that moment he did. In that moment I realised how blessed and lucky I am to experience and witness that moment with my dad and is something I will always cherish for the rest of my life. its a connection between a father and daughter which words cannot express
William secretly planned a road trip starting in The Wilderness traveling alongside the Transkei, truly a South African hidden gem. We started off by staying at Kobb Inn and rode horses on the beach and mountains. we later set off driving through to Coffee Bay to drink a beer at the famous Coffee shack and watching the most incredible sunsets . At Hole in the Wall we we dined like a king and queen as we braai'd fresh Kabeljou fish, west coast mussels and fresh crayfish. Our final destination to the honeymoon was Hogsback, a fairytale hidden gem. we stayed at a venue called The Edge and again went horse back riding amongst the most beautiful and untouched landscapes. We loved Hogsback so much we ended up spending an extra night and have a hike planned in Hogsback for April 2022 called the Amathole hike- which is rated one of the most beautiful and toughest hikes in South Africa
I had two wedding dresses
1. A long off white pure silk. classical, yet modern wedding dress with minimal jewels and a pearl headband I had made myself. my veil was plain but the length added to the simplicity but gave it a timeless effect. To add to its classical style I wore Jeffery Campbell block heals. Another favourite part of my wedding dress were the custom made silk gloves made by my designer to complete the overall look. As my father lifted the veil in handing me over to William, my left hand glove was removed by William when it was time to exchange the rings.
2. the second dress was short, fun, Gatsby composed of pearls, white ostrich feathers and embellishments. The goal was for it to be easy to move and dance in which Is something William and I are very passionate about. I had a second pearl headband to suite the dress style and a second pair of shoes slightly higher of Steve Madden

I am a dental hygienist and my father is a dentist so my teeth were luckily sorted when it came to the wedding.
My cousin Marize is an instructor at Barre Body in Green Point who honestly toned my body to perfection for the big day. I went for multiple chemical peels and dermapen treatments. My Make up artist recommended Dermaplaning a week before the wedding which i would highly recommend to any bride. I have a very fair skin and anyone who knows me is aware that I am quite accustomed to spraytans and had a lady perfect my colour combination leading up to the wedding to look at natural as possible

My bridesmaids wore black dutchess silk dresses. it was by chance that their style was similar to that of my first wedding gown. I bought their dresses on superbalist on Black friday sale. They looked gorgeous with matching black and pearl headbands
