I am the first one on my mom's side of the family to get married in 17 year and 10 years on my dad's side. So the emotions were very high, seeing all the smiles with tears as I walked in changed it all for me - this is for sure the most memorable moment for me.
Highlights will be that I had craft beers on the house in a place that is over 30 degrees so I struggled so much to get everyone together for photos but it turned into great laughs as I told the photographer if they do not come to you then go to them so I have at least 50 photos with my guests holding their beers. This made me happy because it will surely be a unique wedding experience.
More highlights will be all the little surprises, from a unique and magical photobooth that I knew nothing of to my wedding cake that was saved on the morning of my wedding and turned out so amazing.
Then of course how everyone enjoyed our wedding and had fun, danced, took photos etc.
Yes, my grandparents gave us their holiday points to Umhlanga for 6 days.
My dress was not what I dreamt about, I wanted a big puffy, white princess dress. But after fitting 100's of dresses I got the total opposite of what I wanted and I loved it so much, it was perfect in every way - soft pink with white and ivory lace from my shoulders down, soft tule bottom, pearl's on my back and between the lace and off shoulder lace straps. I got my dream dress from Michelangela Bridal Boutique.
My hair was an elegant up do as the venue is very hot and my dress had a lot of detail that I did not want to cover it with my hair down, my make up was also elegant and soft with dark pink lips to complete my look from MUD Professional Make Up.
All my jewelry was Civetta Spark Rose Gold Swarovski to give the final touch of spark, detail and elegance to my look.
My shoes was from Oriental Plaza - white mother of pearl pointy toe pump with diamonds from the toes up to the bridge of my foot.
My veil was soft white.

My guests arrived the Friday as the Venue is quite far, I arranged accommodation for everyone. The wedding was Saturday afternoon at 15H00, we arranged for my hair and make up artist to bring a few assistants who then did the women and girls that were interesteds hair and make up, the men prepared snacks for everyone while we got pampered. The guests stayed till Sunday. I arranged for a breakfast buffet the Sunday morning before everyone departed.
Our venue was Kareespruit Game Ranch and Guest House, Zeerust NW
I started with a home teeth whitening kit from Total Smile which I used twice a week till my wedding, I also did chemical peels at Bella May Beauty and did home facials with their products. I did pedicures at home once a week and also groomed my fiancé as much as I groomed myself.
My venue did most of my decor with the examples and ideas I provided, most of my Stationary and decor that the venue did not provide I designed myself and had it made through Wedding Creations. My decor was soft, natural yet elegant with soft lights, candles and flowers everywhere everything was still not 'to much'. My flower baskets was made by my niece and her husband and we did the flower arrangements through Multi Flora Flower Market in Johannesburg. All music, smoke machines, sound, lights was provided by my father in law. We dis not have any rented elements at our wedding, we either made it ourselves, designed and had it made or it was provided by the venue or family members.
They had medium brown chino pants (John Craig), Long Sleeve White Shirts (Woolworths), Sage Tie (Had them made by Jan Paul Couture), Dark Brown Shoes (Truworths), Dark Brown Belts (Truworths) and funky socks (each one had a different pair - Mr. PRICE)
All the clothes were bought nothing was rented.
I got the idea from pinterest - Tulle Skirts with White body suits.
The skirts I had made in Sage Green by Jan Paul Couture. The body suits was ordered from Superbalist, they had rose gold sandles on that I got from Woolworths and I made them each a rose gold nomination bracelet with their names on from Charris Jewels

Yolandi Du Plessis did our photos and boy was she amazing, she was from Zeerust and we met up with her about 2 months before the wedding, she took a few photos of us so that we can see her work and be comfortable on the day. She made us feel so special and took the most beautiful memorable photos ever. We had a photobooth that my aunt surprised us with and she had Polaroid cameras that guests could use to take photos and add it to our photo guestsbook with a messages
Our venue provided 2 x Wedding coordinators to help me
We did not have as we all stayed on the venue.
The cake was made by family members and The venue prepared the most delicious food.
I designed all my Stationary and had it printed by wedding Creations
We did not take dance lessons as we love dancing and was completely comfortable dancing as we always do, the lighting, sound and dj work was done by my father in law as he is a dj for events and did not want us to waste money on something he can do for us. We worked off a playlist and guests could request songs through the night. Alettas Decor Hire
