My favorite memory of our special day is definitely the moment I walked down the isle and saw Riaan standing at the end, waiting for me. The whole day was amazing and I loved the pampering and excitement of the morning, and getting ready with all the amazing women in my life, but when I finally saw him standing there, looking so handsome, tearing up as he saw me. That is my favorite memory of our wedding day.
Everything was so perfect.
An overseas honeymoon was not on the cards for us with all the travel restrictions around the world. We decided to have a short, but amazing honeymoon in between our wedding and Christmas.
We went to Leopard's Valley Eco Retreat in Citrusdal for 3 nights. It was amazing! Just being so close to nature and so private really helped me to unwind after months of wedding planning. After that, we stayed for two nights in a gorgeous italian-villa style guesthouse close to Stellenbosch, named Casa Mori.
I wanted to have a french-sjiek wedding and decided on a dreamy, princess style dress. My hair was done in a casual messy bun and I decided on a vintage look for makeup and jewelry. My shoes I found on Shien. Everything about my wedding look was more than what I dreamed off. I really felt like a princess.

We got married at The Key. It's a beautiful venue halfway between Robertson and Mc Gregor in the Cape Winelands. Guests did not stay on the venue, but there are plenty of very beautiful and affordable accommodation in the area.
Myself and my bridesmaids stayed at Hookshot Manor just outside of Robertson, on the Silwerstrand Golf Estate. Riaan and the groomsmen stayed in Hookshot Lodge, which is conveniently right next door.
I am generally very health-conscious and try to eat clean and healthy. Most important for me was to get enough sleep and drink plenty of water. That is so important for your hair and skin. I tried a few teeth whiteners and found that the Colgate Charcoal toothpaste worked best for me for daily use. I am quite fair skinned and do not tan very easily, so I opted for a spray tan with Go-Brown tanning. It really made such a big difference in my self-confidence.
My flowers were amazing! I am so blessed to have a mom-in-law that can do wedding flowers. We shared a few pinterest ideas, and I left it in her hand. It came out perfect.
Tables, chairs and all crockery and cutlery was hired from Flamboijant in Bonnievale.
We hired a stretch tents for the pre drink area from Best Events in Worceter.
Lights was hired from Tentmen
The groomsmen suits ware hired from Mr Suit Hire. Riaan's suit was custom made by Gareth from GD Suits. His tie was bought online from Knotted Ties
I found a look on pinterest that I absolutely fell in love with. I could not find the style dressed for sale anywhere so I decided to have it made. Karen Fourie made their dresses.
Ds. WP Du Plessis from NG Kerk Goudinie.
Photographer
Danelle Niemand Photography did our engagement shoot as well as our wedding photos. She is simply amazing. She made us feel very comfortable and it was a lot of fun.
Videographer
Zunaid from Native Indian Films did our video. What a legend. He captured all the fun "behind the scenes" moments as well as the special moments shared.
For the photobooth we simply had our own polaroid camera and a book for notes.
I did most of the planning myself, but I had a lot of valuable input and advise from the venue coordinator, Charlize Fernhout.
My dad drove me and the bridesmaids from the manor to the venue. We did not rent any other transport as the ceremony and the reception was at the same location.
Jeannue Kannemeyer from Wolfkombuis did all our catering. Canape's, main and desserts.
Christal Meiring from Worcester made our beautiful wedding cake.
We decided on a digital invitation and not printed. My Winelands Wedding designed our wedding invitations that was sent to all guests via email.
I have always dreamed of a beautiful first dance for my wedding. Our schedules was too full for weekly dance lessons, so we decided to learn a beautiful dance with the help of YouTube. It was so much fun to practice in our lounge every evening.
We booked a DJ right after we booked the venue as we believe that the music is one of the top priorities for a wedding. The DJ we booked, unfortunately passed away a few weeks before our wedding. The venue recommended DJ Kat. He was a life saver as he was willing to play at our wedding on last minute arrangements. The music was fantastic and our guests danced until the last minute.
