Way back in 2012 in a smal town called Prince Albert, we met on a mission trip. Clinton came with friends and family, as he was the main speaker for the 2 weeks. I had come because I had the need to serve somewhere different and remote for the December holiday. We made our own separate frineds and hung out with our own clicks for the duration of the mission trip. We only shared one single conversation. We didnt even exchange numbers, as we both just had no interest in the other. A few weeks later we becamse Facebook friends but hardly communicated. We saw each other at youth events and through mutual friends. Years later he told me that he always had me in his heart but was willing to wait for the right time. We have come through ALOT together and are blessed to have walked a road to being one another best friend.
For 2 years of our dating relationship Clinton would cycle to my place of work twice a week to spend time with me over lunch. 16kms to stellenbosch and 16kms back to somerset west. We always ate and chatted under the big tree at the theology building. One day we had lunch there and took a walk to stand right beneath the tree. It was there, that he went down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I said yes.
