Our engagement and wedding was definitely not like most. My now husband and I had been doing a long- distance relationship and didn't want to be apart any longer, so two months after our engagement, we got married.
We stayed at the beautiful Pezula Estate in Knysna for a week. Our honeymoon was filled with sightseeing, trying different restaurants and coffee shops and enjoying the stunning outdoors.
My wedding look was simple and elegant:

Earrings: Shein ( can you believe that they were R14???)
Shoes Wedges: Shein ( I wore heels during the ceremony)
Shoes Sandals: Old shoes in my cupboard ( I wore flat shoes during our reception and when we went to the beach)
Lingerie: Shein underwear (white)
Bridal Hairpiece: Lovisa
We got married at the Herolds Bay Resort
Most of our guests travelled from far, but decided to stay at various hotels and airbnb's
With only two months between engagement and the wedding, I didn't have too much time to prepare.
Health & fitness: I made sure that I just ate balanced meals and cut back on sugar. Being a registered dietitian, this was second nature to me. I made sure that I worked out at least 4 days a week.
Skincare: I continued to use my Sorbet products and made sure to do a facial every week.
Teeth whitening: no ( I drink way too much coffee for this to be beneficial)
Spa treatments: I went for an epic massage three days before the wedding to help with the nerves
We hired Trudie Du Plessis who did everything for us!
She made sure that our decor, flowers, furniture and everything that we wanted was in place.
My groom looked extremely handsome in his 'back of the wardrobe suit'. He wore a crisp white shirt from Woolworths, an old textured tie that he had in his closet and leather shoes from Woolworths.
The groom did not have any groomsmen.
I did not have any bridesmaids, however, all of my friends looked beautiful in their outfits.
We asked my groom's father to be our marriage officer.
We had the wonderful opportunity of having Ruan Redelinghuys capture our special day. With him photographing our wedding, we didn't feel like a photobooth would've done any justice.

My parents and I planned and coordinated the wedding. I now know why one should hire a planner though- lots of stress!
I really wanted to keep the wedding simple and so I decided to just let my father drive me in his silver Mitsubishi Outlander.
My husband decided to drive himself to the wedding in his silver Ford Fiesta.
The catering staff at the Herolds Bay Resort prepared the food for the day.
Both the groom and I aren't big fans of cake, so we created a buffet sweets table where our guests could fill their cups with as many sweets and chocolates as they wanted.
I designed all of the wedding stationary( on Canva).
My husband used to do ballroom dancing, I however was born with two left feet and can't dance at all! We decided not to dance at the wedding ( to save me the embarrassment).
I compiled a Spotify playlist to run throughout our reception. We then hired a DJ with his sound equipment to play our favorites on the day.
