Our original date for our wedding was the 15 June 2020 but due to Covid19 we were unable to proceed with our wedding. June 15th 2020 came and went and we were saddened by the uncertainty of everything that Covid19 had brought. We then decided come what may, we would get married on September 4th 2020. So with our Parents and younger brother, we went to church (Rivers Church) and tied the knot. Our photographer, ushered us to the gorgeous Shepstone Gardens for a photoshoot. He took the most exquisit pictures, far beyond anything we ever imagined. Fast forward to the 20th December 2020, the Covid19 situation relaxed just enough for us to have a formal wedding reception. We were blessed to have a beautiful reception and celebrated with all our nearest and dearest. Even though Covid19 put a spanner in the works for us, we did not allow it to dampen or spoil our happily ever after.
After we tied the knot, we proceeded our honeymoon destination. Nestled amid forested hills and overlooking the Sabie River valley, our destination Tima Moon await us. A balinese themed resort with breath taking views treated us to five course dinners and lots and lots of champagne. Each plate was delicately planned to perfection and the company... heavenly. Our week was filled with delicious sophisticated dishes, romantic picnics by the riverside, a hot stone massage for us both and an outdoor cinema experience. We were spoilt by the staff at Tima Moon and were sad to leave once our week was done.
For my hair and make up, I wanted a natural look. Something to highlight my features and still look like me. My make up was beautifully done by Lara from Lara's beauty spot, who also did both my moms and my sister in laws make up. For hair, because of the length of my hair I chose curls which paired perfectly with my dress.
My wedding dress was a stunner, I received numerous compliments on the design and quality of my fairy tale dress. Made from two pictures I googled from the internet, Verona Dove worked her magically fingers to give me not one but two dreamy dresses. The dress was made up of a underdress, shaped to my body to enhance my natural curves. The overskirt of tulle, made me feel like a real live princess.
The shoes, that was our photographer's favourite part of the day, were from Steve Madden. Pictured in numerous of our photos, was one of my best buys.
Jewellery both gifted and bought were from Browns, I was super blessed to receive a stunning tanzanite and white gold pendant and chain from my mom in law for our special occasion.
Our wedding ceremony was held at Rivers Church on the 04th September 2020, and conducted by our amazing Pastor Devon. The message he blessed us with we will forever hold dear to our hearts. Due to strict Covid19 protocols, we were only allowed five guests so my step dad and brother inlaw live streamed our ceremony for everyone else to watch.
On the 20th December 2020, we had our wedding reception at Red Ivory Lodge. In keeping with the Covid19 theme, 35 guests arrived for the reception with a handful of us staying over.
The venue generously gifted us with a night in the honeymoon suite, and a breakfast spread for all who stayed over.
The decor we mostly did on our own. Because the venue was open with an incredible view of Hartenbeesport we did not really need much. We had a florist from Much More Flowers, that did all our flowers for both of our special days. Geometric Prisms we found at a discount store and painted it, we also included our own tea light candles.
Oure wedding photo's, wow, what can I say. The one of a kind, uber talented, photographic artist Daniel Meyer from LAfrique photography. The talent that Daniel possesses comes from the passion and love he has for his job and this is more then evident from the stunning pictures he graced us with.
I often joke with everyone that now I want to become a super model. Daniel not only made me feel comfortable, but my Husband aswell. He made it easy, and yes, he really does know his stuff.
They say pictures speak a thousand words, but Daniels, much more then just words.
Our wedding reception was at the prestige Red Ivory Lodge. We were treated like royalty from the time we arrived. Our food was not only heavenly, but beautifully presented. Our delicate dishes were plated and more then enough in just one serving.
Our Vegan and Vegetarian guests raved about the food they were served. And couldnt thank the staff enough for the thought and preparation that went into their menu. As I am told, Vegan and Vegetarian's often lack variety and are almost always the "forgotten" guests.
Nadia from Creative Hero's was such a God sent and assisted us from day one with designing our exquisite wedding invitations and having them elegantly calligraphed in gold. She put together a whole package of stationery, food menu's, table numbers and our absolute favourites, the welcome board, seating chart and personalised monogram sticker.
We though it would be cute to use the pictures from our previous photoshoot, done at Shepstone Gardens as the backdrop for our happily ever after theme.
Her attention to detail really wowed the guests and captured our "happily ever after theme" perfectly.
