My husband and I have been dating for 15 years, finally deciding to tie the knot in April 2020. As you can imagine, with big families and many friendships made over the years, we could not wait to celebrate our union with all our loved ones.
But, even waiting years for my big day... SA went into lockdown three weeks before and all our plans were put on hold.
Then, we were dealt another devastating blow when my Mother-in-law was diagnosed with terminal cancer. In just one week, we decided that the wait had to be over. I jumped into action and managed to plan a private ceremony with only 8 other family members - in just 6 days! It was a crazy journey to get to our wedding, but with the help of amazing family and friends, it turned out to be the most special day of my life!
The incredible team at St Francis Links went above and beyond to arrange a stunning ceremony and drinks area for us. And we danced the night away with parents, siblings and grandparents at friend's home in Port St Francis, right on the seafront.
I can't explain in words how treasured we felt - in times of disaster and need, our support system is what got us through! We are lucky enough to have shared our day with both our parents and that is the best gift in the world.
It was so hard to realize that we would not able to have our wedding party, bridesmaids and groomsmen with us, along with the rest of friends and family. But, we would not have changed it for the world... Sadly, in just three short months, our mother passed away. We definitely made the right decision to have an impromptu wedding, as no one can take our memories away - The photos we have of the day, and pure happiness and joy we felt amongst our closest family - these are things that prove that we can do anything with perseverance and love!

I had no time, so it was nature's best! All natural
Flowers and decor was all sourced from my home and garden. I cut out vines from my garden, and succulents from my mother's garden. We created hanging vine hoops, and added succulent detail at home and at the ceremony venue.
I fondly call them double trouble... Amy from Sovrin Photography, and Amy from AGAPE who did my videography.
My videos were completed in less than a week!
The were phenomenal and I was blown away by the final products they gave me. They were relaxed and felt just like family-members, and fitted right in. I would definitely recommend them both to everyone.
My mother and sister-in-law caught us by surprise and planned loads of secret details, - like a special ladies breakfast with champagne and fruit, and they decorated our accommodation space (and bedroom!) with flower petals and all sorts of wonderful things that really made our day!
Cake Serendipity made our cake - delicious carrot cake with little succulent and flower details!
