Every aspect regarding our wedding day was beyond memorable, but I definitely think what stands out most was walking down the aisle and being so anxious I had no idea how fast I walking until I saw Louis at the alter, every ounce of anxiousness left and immediately I calmed down. I was so genuinely happy that I couldn't stop smiling and giggling and greeting everyone I passed. Louis and I opted to write our own vows and in the hustle and bustle of all things wedding, we did not get to print out our vows, so each had to write on whatever paper we could find the night before, Louis only had his branded KPMG notepad (from where he works) and this definitely caused for a few laughs.
We have yet to go on honeymoon but we were able to get away for a few nights. My husband booked us a suite at the Harbour House Hotel in Hermanus. Hermanus holds a very special place in our hearts and we would always pass, in our words, 'the hotel with the fancy pool' and state that one day we will get the chance to stay there. Our minimoon, as we like to call it, was jam packed with lots of food and champagne, left over wedding cake (thanks bridebabes for ensuring that made its way home with us), sight seeing, and candlelit baths. We look forward to the day when we will eventually be able to go on our honeymoon.
The look I went for on our wedding day was 'elegance'. When it came to my hair, I knew in order to show off my beautiful dress I would have to do an up-do. Jessica did a phenomenal job in getting all of my very long and thick hair into a low elegant bun that held throughout countless hours of dancing. I opted for a natural make-up look with more of a smokey eye and that is exactly what Jess delivered, through hours of smiling, laughing, crying and sweating, my make-up remained in place.
My wedding dress was designed by Cindy Bam, and I cannot speak highly enough of her. I met Cindy at a bridal expo just shortly after getting engaged and knew I needed to go and see her. When the time came to start looing for dresses, I had booked roughly 5 appointments and Cindy happened to be my first appointment. Needless to say, all other appointments were cancelled and so the work on my dream dress began. I decided on a fit and flare style and Cindy and I went about deciding on lace and the placement thereof and all the in's and out's. All of my family member reside overseas but Cindy ensured that every fitting felt special and like I had everyone right there with me.
I bought my shoes from Forever New and went with a nude block heel to not take away from my dress. I decided on minimal jewelry, and bought some crystal tear drop earrings from Cindy Bam.
Lingerie on the day was the bare minimal due to the type of dress I wore, but all other lingerie was gifted and bought from places like Luna-intimates and Bras n things.

We got married at Ashanti Estate in Paarl, and while they don't have on-site accommodation, they provided us with many accommodation recommendations for us and all of our guests to make use of.
2018 was an emotionally tough year for me and lead to a lot of weight gain, by the time Louis and I got engaged, I was 15kg's over my usual weight and knew that to lead a better life but also feel comfortable in my own skin I needed to lose some weight. I started my health journey in August of 2019 by eating healthy wholesome foods, incorporating exercise into my daily life through the use of Kayla Itsines Sweat App and Step class at gym and making small changes, by March I had lost all the extra kg's and truly felt comfortable again. I started going to Smart Laser in Plattekloof for glycolic peels and laser hair removal treatments which were a lifesaver.
The day before the wedding was spent at Val de vie's Camelot Spa in Paarl with my bridesbabes, where we were truly able to relax after months of planning and prepping.
