Unfortunately, we could not go on a honeymoon due to COVID 19 and lockdown just 5 days after our wedding day. As Steyn is travelling a lot for work, we at least had a full 8 weeks at home together before we had to head back to the office. We treasured the 8 weeks together and hope that we can still have a wonderful and romantic honeymoon one day.
I am a very traditional and sentimental person and envisioned an elegant but traditional look with beautiful lace, silk and pearls. Oh, how I struggled to decide what exactly I am looking for in a dress. A-Line it was for sure, but nothing seemed to fit my upper body perfectly until I finally went to DIDI Couture and tried on the first dress that she recommended and fell in love immediately. We used the upper part of the dress and she designed the silk A-Line skirt to fit with my vision. She has the expertise of looking at your body and knowing what suits you best. She's direct and honest and professional and we just clicked immediately.
I am a make-up artist myself, however, I am not used to make-up on my skin and are very picky when I have to wear any make-up. Therefore I had to search for the best and who else than Lee-Anne Make-up Artist. Lee-Anne and her team is a blessing on your wedding day. From the moment they step in your room, they make you feel relaxed, treated and beyond beautiful. I had no idea what my make-up will look like until she showed me the result on my wedding day. You can for sure trust her to use her imagination/creation. For my hair, Elizna from Bellisimo Hair created a stunning side curly upstyle to create a fuller look, as I have very thin hair. She nailed it in every way possible.
Being a sentimental person I chose to finish off the look with my mother in-law's gold diamond earrings. This will from now on be a tradition as she also wore her mother-in law's diamond earrings on her wedding day.
My garter was made by my very own mother, she surprised me with my garter as I completely forgot about it. Black and white, the colours of my wedding.
We got married at Drosberg Wedding Venue which is situated on the Klein Drakenstein Mountains of Paarl. It is a perfect venue and we had the wedding of our dreams. With the most breath-taking view of the Paarl Mountains, the vineyards & Table Mountain. It creates the perfect atmosphere and we will forever remember our special day. Stefani and her team operated during the stressful time of Covid 19 and it's rules and regulations that on that time changed every day until our wedding day.
