To be honest, I have a few highlights. I know every bride says it was the best day of her life but for me it was. We shared so many special moments together with family and friends. One of my favorite moments was seeing my dad for the first time after getting ready. It was such an emotional moment for the both of us. The most memorable moment of the day was walking down the isle... We got married next to the river under a forest of poplar trees, it was like something out of a story book. My dad and I stood in front of two big wooden doors, waiting for them to be opened. My heart is racing in my chest and my butterflies are going crazy! The bell rang three times and the doors opened, and there he stood. The man of my dreams, my best friend, my soul mate. And all the nervousness went away and calmness and happiness flowed over me like waves flowing over the beach. I couldn't help but shed a tear as I saw him getting emotional as well. My dad gave me a kiss and handed me to him, such a special moment. The most amazing thing happened, during the entire ceremony behind the pastor there were two of the most beautiful butterflies I have ever seen. They sat there, opening and closing their wings, boasting with their exceptional beauty. For us this was very special, a gift from God.
I found my dream dress at Whimsical Bridal. It was absolutely stunning. It was tight at the top with lace and had a flowy skirt. Where the skirt and top met, it was laced with pearls. I have long black hair, so I decided I just wanted loose curls. I has a pearl and gemstone hair piece in my hair. My jewelry was simple, yet elegant. My mother in law bought me this stunning pearl necklace from Arthur Kaplan. Everything just fit together beautifully.
We got married at Meulstroom Lodge. It's this amazing family owned lodge between the mountains with a river flowing through it. near Bronkhorstpruit. It was a weekend wedding and at Meulstroom they can accommodate all your guests for the entire weekend.
I exercised every night, I went for a jog and also did HIIT training. I didn't change much of my beauty regime. Before the wedding I had my nails done at Nails by Magda. She did an amazing job!
Both of us love nature and spending time in nature. So I wanted to incorporate it in our special day. It was simple, elegant and the flower included mostly greenery, white roses and baby's breath. Everything was supplied by Meulstroom Lodge.
The groom looked dabber! He wore a grey and black suit from Parktown stores. The jacket had some detailing on it, it just brought the entire look together. He looked like a real prince Charming! The groomsmen wore light grey suits with green ties, also from Parktown stores.
The girls had dove grey dresses, tight with lace at the top with a loose flowy skirt and a slit on one leg. The dresses were made by The Maiden, they did an amazing job!
Our special day was captured by The Geldenhuys'. Michelle did an absolutely amazing job. She captured all the special moments and she exceeded our expectations! We hired a photo booth from Quipix, it was so much fun and all the guests loved it!!

Our wedding cake was made by Ruan's talented cousin. I told him that he could have fun and let his creative juices flow, and that I trust him and know that it will be amazing!! He exceeded my expectations and made the most beautiful and delicious (There were no leftovers!) wedding cake ever! The cake had three tiers, decorated with white roses, baby's breath and eucalyptus leaves. He made pearls and macrons and decorated the cake with them as well. It was stunning!
