I met my husband Frank when I was 18. I was in a relationship at the time and never gave Frank the time of day. 8 years later we met each other in the gym and because both of us had changed so much since the first time we saw one another, we had no recollection of ever meeting.
That evening I messaged him on Facebook and I came across a chat we had 8 years prior.
I was so shocked that he was the same man I turned down years before.
Almost 5 years together now and I could not imagine a day without him.
Our wedding was our true fairytale. It was absolute perfection down to every last detail.
We got married at Lace on Timber and the venue itself had such a warm, homely feel and we just knew it was our venue .
My favourite moment of the day was seeing my husband cry when I walked down the isle.
He has cried all of 3 times in our entire relationship, he is not a very emotional or open person, so for me to witness those tears strolling down his face as I walked towards him was priceless and a moment I will never forget.
Yes, we had the most incredible trip to Cape Town. We hope to do another trip .
We spent a glorious week hopping from apartment to apartment . Each with a different feel and style. .
I loved this spontaneity of it all
I am obsessed with animal print and I know it's a bold move but I went with what I love and had a mermaid dress made out of white animal print .
I embraced my curves and i would not change the look for anything.
My husband loves my hair straight down and that's exactly what I did. Why change who you are on the most important day of your life.
I did my own hair and make up as I'm so fussy and I know what makes me feel 120% myself. I went with a super dark smokey look as we had a late afternoon wedding.
I stuck with elegant rose gold sandals sky high as I love my heels. All my jewellery was on the bigger and bolder side of the spectrum.
We got married at Lace on Timber. A few of our guests stayed on the premises
I'm a professional fitness athlete so being in shape is always a priority for me.
Leading up to the wedding I kept to eating healthy and clean foods.
I had weekly treatments done on my hair at the Blo Bar. I didn't do anything else differently.
We went for a very elegant and modern look.
We kept to a subtropical theme, went with alot of greenery and incorporated white lilies and orchids as well as a couple of white Rose's. We had alot of clear and rose gold vases with candles in.
The venue was super elegant and clean with a touch of purple wall lighting for ambience.
Pebble and Lace made all my dreams come true.
My hubby had his suite made down to the last stitch. It was breathtaking and one of a kind.
He looked so incredible. His suit was a very pale grey/blue with silver and gold accents.
His groomsmen wore all black to match my bridesmaids
My bridesmaids were all blonde and I decided to put them in all black. I designed their dresses and my seamstress at ZLJ made them.
Ps Devon Fughard Gous from Rivers church
We loved our photographer and felt so comfortable with him.
George from GDG was just impeccable!!!!
We are crazy about our photos
No I did everything by myself.
I was very particular and I was going to make sure the day was flawless
My hubby organized a white G WAGON for me to drive up in .
A moment I cherish
The venue prepared the food. It was so hearty and homey . We went with food choices that you would generally have as part of a sunday roast . Best decision we could have made .
I designed it all and my dad had it printed through a client of his
Being a professional dancer, it was up to me to make sure my hubby was comfortable.
He wanted to have a cool dance and not the traditional side to side sway .
We only had 3 lessons and a final practice run before we entered the reception .
The rehearsals were filled with laughs and loads of kisses.
Cannot believe that my non dancer of a husband did such a fabulous job and still remembers the dance . Such a proud wife.
We had a dj , we used Mega Music djs and we really enjoyed the night
