I had so many memorable and special moments on my wedding day, I actually do not know where to begin so I will list them below (in no particular order):
- Seeing my handsome husband waiting for me at the alter and the look on his face when he saw me. I remember how happy and excited we both were to see each other and we could not stop smiling at each other and telling each other how amazing we both looked, this was just such a cute moment.
- Seeing how happy everyone was at our wedding reception, it was such a happy day for everyone.
- Having a moment with my bridesmaid just to take it all in and enjoy getting ready together.
- My mom buttoning up my dress and putting on my veil, this was such a special moment to share with her.
- One of my highlights was definitely a surprise performance by Craig Lucas who performed our favourite song which was planned by my hubby - I was overwhelmed with so much joy, excitement and happiness. We had the most special day which was perfect from start to finish
We went on honeymoon immediately after the wedding, we had the cutest little road trip along the Garden Route for 10 days and had the most amazing time together.
I have imagined my wedding since I was a little girl, I always had the image of a classic princess in my head and always wanted to be the classic, elegant bride. Many years later, my childhood dream of my wedding look came to life and I opted for the "Classic Elegance" look.
For hair I wanted a classic updo to show off the back of my dress and button detail. My hair stylist was amazing, Louisa Marais from I Do Crew. Makeup I did myself as I am a makeup artist - I was a very calm bride-to-be and was confident that I would be able to have a steady hand to do my own makeup on my wedding day.
My dress and veil are from House of Silk Bridal Boutique, with the back detail and alterations done by the amazing Valencia Harrison Designs. For shoes I opted for flats, as I wanted to be comfortable and be able to dance the night away without my feet being wrecked after a long day in heels. My shoes were beige crocodile skin pointed flats with an ankle strap.
For jewellery I kept it simple and elegant with a pair of rose gold pearl drop earrings from Lovisa and I added some rose gold jewels to the hair.
Our ceremony took place in the Catholic church in Brackenfell and our reception was at Nantes Estate in Paarl. Our reception venue was just perfect with the most beautiful surrounds for our pictures.

My beauty regime leading up to my wedding involved drinking lots of water daily...at one point I was averaging 4.5litres of water from about a month before the wedding. I was determined to get my "glow" and I could definitely tell the difference on the overall condition of my skin when I upped my water intake. I also made a point of religiously doing a weekly face mask, using eye cream and taking extra care of my skin from about a month before the wedding.
Our colour scheme was navy and blush pink with touches of rose gold. We hired the decor from Functions 4U and made lots of the decor elements ourselves which we quite enjoyed. We wanted our wedding reception to be a reflection of us as a couple so we added lots of quirky quotes, phrases and little stations during our drinks reception so we were "chatting" to our guests even while we were away taking pictures.

The groom and groomsman both wore navy suits from Eurosuit and we had custom-made wooden protea boutonnieres made from Bunches for Africa.
My bridesmaid wore a beautiful dusty pink infinity dress.
We got married in All Saint's Catholic Church in Brackenfell.
Our photographer was the very talented Noel Solomon Photography who captured the most beautiful story from start to finish. Our videographer was 15k Media who did the most amazing job at putting our wedding video together, we could not be happier.
As I am an Event Organiser by profession, I took the role of wedding planner :)
Our wedding transport was a classic vintage 1949 MG in red which was a self-drive, this was just the most amazing experience as it just tied the whole classic experience together perfectly!!
We opted for a set menu on the day which was served plated to our guests. Ebony & Ivory Event Management and Catering took care of the catering on the day and did the most amazing job and the food was absolutely spectacular. Our 20cm semi-naked chocolate cake accompanied by a mixture of chocolate and salted caramel cupcakes was made by Crafty Cakes. As we had rustic wood elements running through our decor elements, we made the 3 tier cake stand ourselves with logs.
All the wedding stationery we did ourselves from start to finish.
Our wedding reception was absolutely magical and it was so nice to see our guests having fun and enjoying our day as much as we were, it was such a happy day for all. The build up for our first dance made me quite anxious, not knowing that hubby had organised for Craig Lucas to serenade us to our song for our first dance - it was so special and intimate and I would not have changed a thing about our wedding day. Our Dj's were DJ Newton and Vernon Carver.
